Quick and easy to use chip reader.
Cheap and cheerful, does the job. Press the button to switch on and then sweep over the pet until you hear a beep. Easy. Allowed me to read the chips on a few cats that visit my garden on a regular basis. Bare in mind that this is just a scanner and you would need to contact a vet, rescue or chip company if you have found a stray (they are unlikely to be able to give you any info due to GDPR). In the UK though, sites like check a chip will be able to tell you which company a chip is registered to.It's hidden away in the manual but to download chip data from the reader to a computer you need to first make sure the reader is off. Open a word, excel or text editor and make sure you've selected and can see the cursor in the document. Plug the reader in with the USB cable and once you hear the computer recognise it's connected, hold the readers power button down for 3 seconds. You should see all the data appear in your highlighted document.

Ho acquistato questo lettore di microchip per cani perché, vivendo in un piccolo comune di montagna e facendo parte dell’amministrazione comunale, mi capita spesso di incontrare cani incustoditi. Non sempre è facile trovare subito un operatore disponibile per la lettura del microchip, quindi ho deciso di prenderlo personalmente.Pagato poco (intorno ai 15euro), funziona benissimo: legge il microchip in modo rapido e chiaro, mostrando subito il codice sul display. In diverse occasioni si è rivelato davvero utile per verificare se il cane avesse un proprietario e poter agire di conseguenza.Un acquisto che consiglio assolutamente a chi vive in zone dove il servizio non è sempre immediato: pratico, preciso e conveniente.
