Very fast shipping! Even to Hawaii!
This is a nice pottery wheel and arrived super fast which I really appreciate. It runs smoothly and has both forward and reverse with variable speeds controlled by a little dial. At first it was a little noisy in one direction but I just shifted the belt a little and the noise stopped. I wish it had a foot pedal to control the speeds because you really don't want to take your hands off the pot in the middle of making it to change the speed and I would have bought one of the ones that does have a foot pedal but this was the only wheel I could find that would ship to Hawaii. then I thought I might be able to add a foot pedal but it has 3 wires going to the speed controller nd the foot pedal I was thinking of only has 2 wires, so I am still thinking about how to fix this problem. Otherwise I love this pottery wheel and the seller that shipped it super quick. The wheel is kind of low and I sit on a very low stool so that I can get in a good position to brace my hands and arms on my legs, its a little low but not bad and it does have 4 screw on feet on the bottom that are threaded so I am thinking to go to the hardware store and look for some taller screw on legs. The other thing I like about this wheel is that it is pretty light and not hard to move around or carry.

A Lot Better than Many Reviews
I was very hesistant to purchase this amid horrible reviews of some. Negatives are way, way overhyped. This is a $150 wheel--most pottery wheels are $1000. This is an excellent starter wheel. To those who break this in a week-- I have no idea how it broke. But this is an electical device. It is not waterproof and not only moves at fast speeds but vibrates significantly if you are throwing off center. Given that it is sold without a peddle, which is known when you buy it, you'll need to adjust with your soaked, muddy fingers. If you use this with knowledge that your hands are wet and that any moisture from your hands will quickly find its way into the electronics if are not very careful, you will blow the driver. This wheel has very basic power but if fully capable of making decent pottery. You need a kiln or or some way to fire your pottery. It is very difficult to use self-drying clay on this (or any) pottery wheel. There is no misrepresentation regarding the non-removable splash gaurd . It is not removable, but it is easily cleanable after use with a basic sponge. The speed knob is finnicky, but this is a good-sized wheel that is perfect for beginners to try out pottery without having to invest in a $1000 wheel. Watch a bunch of Youtube videos and see if you enjoy pottery throwing. This machine is perfect for that.

Burned out within the first hour of use.
I was a bit dubious about the sub-$200 wheels on Amazon, given that even an entry level wheel from a mainstream pottery supplier is several times that price.I should have listened to my doubts. Wheel burned out within an hour of starting to use it. Seller has not been responsive. If it hadn't burned out, it would still have been "meh." It stalls out easily during centering, particularly if you don't have the wheel set to max speed. The basin surrounding the wheel is also, oddly, impossible to remove. If you wanted to empty it, you'd have to either sponge it all up or tilt the whole machine.

A piece of junk.
We ordered our first one of these as a birthday gift . When it arrived, it looked nice enough but when turned on the table had a serious wobble. So we returned it for a new one. Received such... and in the first 15 minutes of use this machine began sparking (yes, sparking) and the completely quit. Two in a row...Beware of this useless junk,

Broke in less than 2hrs
Bought 3 for the kids and 1 stopped turning in less than 2 hrs of use. Getting replacement but unfortunately will take a week. If it breaks again I’ll return all 3.
