PlayStation 4 Camera (Old Model)

I am putting this in the beginning of the review so people notice it: On online games, you can NOT turn off the microphone to this camera. Every sound in your bedroom/living room will be broadcast to all the others you game with online. I do not know why Sony does not allow you to turn this feature off, and I expect it to very quickly be updated by the end of the year or whenever the next firmware update is released, as it appears to just be a small oversight rushing the launch firmware to market. However, that isn't to say there is no hope! You just have to create a party chat with only yourself in the chat, and it will shut off the microphone to people outside the party in the game. Or you can unplug the camera every time you want to play. Your choice. Now on to the actual product review... To be as short as possible, this camera does what it is supposed to do very well! It has great picture and can be a very fun addition to your PlayStation 4! Don't trick yourself into thinking you are going to have hours of entertainment value, though, because there just isn't a ton of support for it so early in the console lifecycle. With that said, we all know you like showing off your PS4 to family/friends and using this on the built in game "The Playroom" is almost worth springing for the extra amount. Many people are also using the Playroom on the "Live from Playstation" live streaming feature and creating oddly entertaining web shows. The voice commands are responsive also, but limited. You can also login with the camera through facial recognition which is pretty nifty, but admittedly it's actually slower then manually selecting your profile on the screen. Overall I would recommend this camera if you are interested in buying it. It is a very good product and a lot of fun. That is why I am giving it 5 stars, because the camera itself does everything you want from it. If you aren't sure you have the money for it right now though, I would wait until you do. It isn't compelling enough to call it a "must-buy".

The PlayStation 4 Camera is an amazing piece of technology. I bought it a month after I purchased the PS4 console but the camera should be pretty much a standard accessory with the console given that it changes the way you use your console once you have it. I am not saying that without it you will suffer or will not be able to play games but you will not be able to play a few games that are included in the Game Room as well as motion gaming titles for example Just Dance. The PS4 camera is nice and setting it up is a breeze. Also, the attaches behind the console therefore keeping the front of the PS4 clutter free. I got a good price here so I purchased it on Amazon rather than in the stores but if you want you can first take a look at the hardware in a store that has the PS4 and the camera available so that you pretty much know what you are dishing out the money for. I would recommend this product for anyone who has a PS4 so that after a heavy session of hardcore gaming you can always engage in some funny motion games with your younger siblings :)

PS4 Camera is pretty cool to use for AR and VR games, without issues. It is required for those games and features obviously. Does well with the facial recognition console unlocking, if you choose to use that feature.

It's a good camera, it's not the highest quality in the world but it works just fine and i have had no problems with it. I can't really give an in depth review because currently their is not much you can do with the PlayStation's camera besides the playroom game and my personal favorite, using it with twitch while streaming gameplay. It has a built in mic that's on during multiplayer which is a plus cause I'm not a big fan of the mono earpiece that came with the console. When it comes down to it i would only recommend this product to someone that will be streaming a lot and want's his/her's viewers to see them, also if you have children the playroom game could be fun for them but once you have played with it for 10 minuets you have seen everything the game has to offer and it gets old quick. Oh yea i forgot to mention you can use voice commands on the dashboard to play a game, log in, shut your system down and a few other things but this is also possible with the headset. I'm hoping Sony integrates the camera a little more into their console so it can be used to control more of the systems options without making it a necessity, more games and a video chat like Skype would also be nice to. So that's that, when in use it's a lot of fun and i really enjoy using it but most of the time it just sits on top of my TV looking pretty. I can't wait for more apps, games and other things to come out that makes use of the camera. If you like streaming your gameplay i would pick this up asap but if your looking to play games with your kids or talk with your pals through video chat, it ain't happening, yet. P.S I forgot to mention, if you play NBA 2K14 you can call out plays into the mic which is awesome but be careful with what you say. The way i found out about this feature was when i was loosing a game badly, the opposing team made a 3 pointer and i started screaming and cursing then all of a sudden i was charged with a technical foul. I was amazed and extremely angered by this at the same time. So if games tend to make you cus be careful while playing 2K14 otherwise you will pay for it.

Primera versión de la PlayStation Camera lanzada en 2013, vale perfectamente para las PlayStation VR, hace tiempo que quería este modelo ya que tengo la PlayStation 4 Fat y esta hacia juego estéticamente con la cámara. Envío rápido y seguro, lo único malo es que no te proporcionan seguimiento.

El producto llego en el tiempo estimado, bien protegido y en excelentes condiciones, la camara tiene muy buena resolucion, para hacer transmisiones desde el playstation 4 viene perfecta, tambien para poder disfrutar del Just Dance, sin ninguna queja, 100% recomendable.
