Very nice looking and feel good in the hand. Sharp
Very nice chisels. Smooth handles, good feel. Weight is great. Ive got big hands, xl size. These chisels fit my hands perfectly. I believe would also fit smaller and larger hands too. The metal feels nice and smooth. The smaller sized ones are very sharp out of the box. 19mm and 25mm not quite as sharp but serviceable. I usually sharpen chisels when i recieve them anyway so no issues. Good box, looks nice and solid. Pleased with these tools.

Very good chisels
These are very good chisels for the money, easily up to professional standards. They feel good in the hand and have only slight edges so can get into tight corners. I've had quite a few chisels over the years and these are some of the best. They require sharpening out of the box, but minimal work overall compared to other expensive chisels I've owned. Overall I'm very happy with the quality and value for money. To be honest I wouldn't bother getting Lie Nielsen, I'd save a few pounds and get these instead.

Good chisel, not perfect
The steel is definitely tough and it stays sharp. The handles are made from ash however, and its a bit soft for not having a collar at the top. My wood mallet digs into the grain at the top of the chisel handle and I wonder how long before the damage is severe.

Quality
Narex are known as a fine engineering company and this chisel set is typical of that history. Very nicely presented in the box, blades are flat, ground and polished to 25 deg and overall excellent quality. I put a 30 deg secondary bevel on them and they performed great with no further work required. Highly recommended.

Pricey but great quality.
They say you get what you pay for. Can’t fault these chisels. They are very comfortable to handle. Great looking tools.

Great chisels, but frustrating start.
I bought these chisels as a "bucket list" item. I'm 70 in a couple of weeks and thought I deserved a set of premium chisels. That's what these Narex Richter chisels were described as, and the marketing blurb even talked about minimising the need for flattening the backs of the chisels, so I ordered some. They arrived in a smart presentation box on time, and felt glorious, all polished and shiny. I thought a touch-up with a 1000-grit stone and upwards would be adequate, but soon discovered that wasn't true. All of the chisels had humps and hollows and I had to go back to my 300-grit stone and work my way back up through 600/1000/2000/3000/8000/15000 stones before I got to the sort of surface I would expect (and believe me, I'm not that fussy). I could have skipped the 15000 stone, but it gave a mirror finish and didn't take long, so I persevered. All in all, the flattening took several hours per chisel with times being spread over the widest chisel (more time) down to the narrowest (less time). I did contact the seller, but as I'm an obstinate old sod I ploughed on. Having said all that, once I got the backs flat and sharpened them properly, they're magnificent chisels. The steel holds an edge brilliantly, and only minor re-stropping is needed to restore an edge without going back to the stones. I didn't find this a problem at all. I was able to clean up dovetails, mark out dados, pare through the dados, for some considerable time (certainly better than other makes). The geometry of the Richter chisels is worth a mention. Above the flat back of the blade they have a "landing", a small wall before the bevel begins. I don't know if my over-eager flattening wore the sole down, but the landing was fairly sharp on some of my chisels. However, this meant they performed brilliantly in cleaning up dovetails; the low-angle rake of the bevels completely avoided the walls. They were equally good at paring out dados, able to get into the corners to keep the dado walls straight whilst shifting good volumes of waste from the centre areas. I haven't mentioned the handles yet. This may sound like a niggle, but it's just part of the preparation needed. The handles are Ash and, for me, comfortable enough, but I noticed that when I was flattening the backs, some black dirt transferred into them, becoming ingrained and unappealing. It seems to beg the question of what finish was applied to the handles in the factory, and why they would send the out that way. Fortunately, a rub with 180-grit sandpaper and a couple of coats of furniture wax seemed to cure this problem. But why send them out like that? On the positive side, they don't have ferrules at the ends, so using the palm of the hand to push or hit the chisel is painless. I've used a mallet and don't have any fear of the Ash splitting. Ash is a good wood for handles. So, are these "premium" chisels? Well, after all the effort I had to put in initially, I believe they are. They perform well, and can produce accurate cuts in various situations: paring end-grain; hollowing out dados; scooping out scallops with the blade bevel-down; chopping down into dado and similar walls; chiselling out tenons. Because they're designed to get into awkward spaces they're really quite thin, so I've not tried chopping mortices with them but, as a result of how I've clobbered them with a mallet on other occasions, I believe they could cope with it. At an average price of £32, they're comparable to the Ashley Iles set, but way below the Veritas and Lie Nielsen chisels at £90+ each. Other than the level of preparation needed in advance, I can't see what the more expensive chisels have to offer to justify the price difference; the Richter chisels are comfortable to use and well-made, accurate in execution and - if these things have a price tag - quite nifty in their presentation box. At this price level I'm quite happy with my "bucket list" choice.

Buen producto
A penas he utilizado alguno y, además, no los he afilado, sino tal como vienen.

Amazing chisels!!
These are the best chisels I have used yet and I have used many over the years. Very minimal honing to prepare for use, if any. Usually it's the longest part of buy a set of chisels, these were a breeze and already very sharp out of the box. Great feel, balance and awesome looks... nice and shiny. Love them, I think this is the last set I will ever buy... Should last forever
