A true "must-have" for formula feeding
Seems like not too many people know about this excellent device that is one of the baby items we could not live without. Do yourself a favor and buy this now. I can't tell you how much easier it made feeding our baby. No one recommended this to us, I just happened upon it while browsing baby items on Amazon, and I thank my lucky stars I did. Benefits: *Virtually eliminates the foamy top layer that's produced from traditionally mixing formula *Produces a much smoother and evenly mixed formula *Saves time by mixing formula once per day instead of 10x or more a day. *Saves money since you aren't limited to making formula in 2 oz increments when you need to feed an odd number of ounces. *Saves your sanity during late night feedings since you don't have to measure and mix. *Easy to clean and well made. This pitcher would have been a bargain at twice the price. Some people might argue that it takes more time to warm the bottle if you are serving formula from the fridge, and at first we did warm the bottles. Then a neonatal nurse tipped us off, saying that they don't warm the milk for the NICU babies and even they are fine with it. We gave it a shot and discovered that our little one (then 1 month old) didn't mind cold formula at all, nor did cold formula appear to cause any gas or tummy ache. Tips: *Make your formula after you put the baby down for bed each night. This ensures that you have plenty of time to wash the pitcher and you can also give whatever remains in the pitcher at the last feeding before bedtime. This is the most positive review I've written for anything. This pitcher is that good, and I'm all for anything that makes the early months with a new baby easier on parents.

An important product I didn't know I needed!
TLDR: Easy to clean, use, no foam in formula, no clumping with formula, amazing product. Do not over fill! I am currently raising my third baby and she is incredibly gassy! My husband and I switched her to a sensitive brand formula to help with this issue and noticed right away and after shaking her bottle, it created a lot of foam! To counter this issue we began filling a few 9oz bottles and mixing the formula ahead of time so that the foam would dissolve in the fridge. This worked for a while. Recently though she has been intaking much more formula and it has been hard to keep up with the demand! So, I did some research into what else I could possibly do besides buy more 9oz bottles. And then I found someone who recommended this pitcher. I was skeptical at first.. How would the paddle really mix it well enough to avoid clumping? Well, this pitcher has exceeded my expectations! Not only is there no clumping but there's also little to no foam and it's a breeze to use. You just add your water, add the formula, push the formula down slightly with the paddle, lock the lid and churn. Done. I liked it so much I decided to buy another one within just a couple of weeks! This pitcher has truly been a time saver. As a side note, I would recommend filling it to the 28oz or 30oz line, any higher than that and it tends to spill a little bit when you churn. I would recommend this pitcher to anyone who is formula feeding for sure!

Batch formula making made easy!
Batch formula making made easy! I don't know if my baby outgrew the gassy phase at 4.5 months. But after switching to formula from breastmilk, going through 8 bottles just to settle on Dr. Brown's, buying this pitcher to reduce gas bubbles, using gas drops at night, and adding probiotics... Our baby has finally stopped waking up because of gas. Aside from its contribution to my son's gas progress, this pitcher also made my life easier when I switched to formula. I hated shaking the bottle and letting it sit to let the bubbles settle or adding gas drops which led to a mess because opening the collar meant drips everywhere. This pitcher let's me make a batch of formula every morning easily and then throw it in the fridge. At night, I easily pour out formula to 2 bottles, cover with a storage cap, and keep them and the nipple and vents in a bedroom mini fridge (we cosleep). It also works well for bottles that don't do well with formula and shaking, like Como Tomo bottles. I bought 2 of these because when I was pumping, it was great to dump my breastmilk in throughout the day and just mix the fat when I needed to pour out a serving. At the end of the day, I would freeze the rest. Since I stopped pumping, I love having another one while the other one soaks in a tub of soapy water. I only need to wash a pitcher and all the bottles once a day! It's so cheap and useful, just buy it!

Perfect
I kept putting of buying this since I had a regular small pitcher that I had been using but eventually I gave in and I'm soooo glad I did its worth every penny and makes it soo much easier to prep my babies milk. First of the pitcher is the perfect size not huge and bulky just fine and still holds plenty of ounces. Assembling is super easy and although theirs more then 2 parts it's nothing super time consuming. Washing, also very simple I take my same bottle brush and just give the whole thing a good scrub and have not had any problems with it not washing properly or taking long and with a baby we all know the less time consuming the better!! The being able to mix before pouring in a bottle to feed is also another thing that makes this product very much worth it especially when feeding BM as it tends to separate it deff needs a little mixing before using and with my regular pitcher I felt like I got to much milk on the rest of the pitcher when swirling it and it felt like wasted milk to me lol Lastly i like the turn feature the lid has so when not in use you can close it and to use it you just turn the lid and open it and the little point to the pitcher is the perfect size for bottled with my other pitcher it was way too wide and for am feeds when mombie is up idk how many times I spilled milk and with this pitcher, to this day, it has not happened once. Overall I CAN NOT stop recommending this pitcher to friends who would benefit from it seriously a game changer! So glad I finally caved in and purchased it!!

Changed the Way We Make Bottles!
We have a formula clumping and foaming problem. It was becoming impossible for my husband or I to shake a bottle and get rid of all the clumps. I even tried stirring and that was worse (and I made a mess). We use Similac Sensitive which creates a ridiculous amount of foam and bubbles when you shake the bottle. I didn't think it would be a big deal at first but my child ended up having a lot of gas issues. We switched to only using Dr. Brown bottles which helped a little but I was still concerned about the foam and the clumps. I came across this secret weapon in my research to help with my formula problems. This pitcher has completely changed my life. Ok so it's not really a miracle pitcher but not only does it help with the clumps and foam, it also saves us a lot of time and a lot of stress. Once the formula is made, you can fill the bottles right away and store them in the fridge or just store the whole pitcher in the fridge and pour bottles as you need them. A lot foam is still being produced in the pitcher but hardly any of it was being poured into the bottles. Also letting the bottles rest in the fridge until we needed them reduced the foam to nothing. There's also no need to re-shake or remix the formula. Once it's made, it's made. This pitcher is great for when your child is drinking an odd number ounces because you can actually give that amount without having to guess or try to do a half scoop. Ideally, our process is that we make a pitcher of formula, fill 6 bottles, put them in the fridge, then wash the pitcher so it's ready for tomorrow. That doesn't always happen though. Depending on how many bottles are clean, sometimes we only fill a few bottles and leave the rest in the pitcher and put that whole thing in the fridge. It doesn't take up a lot of space so it's no big deal. (FYI... We tried feeding our baby cold bottles but he wasn't a fan so we do have a bottle warmer to get the bottles to room temperature before we feed him.) TIPS: -Only mix 24 oz at a time. I think if you tried to make the full 32 oz you would run into some trouble. Making 24 oz gives you ample space at the top to fully pump the pitcher to mix the formula without any formula leaking out of the top. -Pour the water first, then do the formula. This allows the measuring to be more accurate and how bottles were intended to be made anyway. We've never had a clump in any of our bottles after we started using this pitcher (which isn't necessarily because of this reason but a combination of everything we do). -Don't pump too hard. The directions suggest one pump every second and I totally agree. There is no need to push down as hard as you can and as fast as you can. We mix for about a minute.

As long as it is the only one of it's kind
I am writing this review entirely because if they update this pitcher I want to reiterate what I agree with. So everything I have to say has already been said, but let me sum up. PROS -Fantastic for foamy formula (like Similac sensitive for spit-up), foam barely occurs, or dissipates very quickly (as opposed to shaking). -Formula gets mixed very well, with far fewer clumps (generally none). -It is easy to use, my cat often mixes the formula when the baby is screaming and I need to hold him (haha just kidding I wish, but it is easy) -Brilliant, I now cannot imagine life without it. Why oh why did we ever mix one foamy bottle at a time? CONS -The little stopper that is supposed to prevent the blade from going above the liquid does not work. It stays in place for 2-5 secs than swiftly scoots to the bottom. -The handle at the top is removable and it often removes itself against my wishes, in other words, it comes off too easily in my opinion. -There are a lot of parts to wash, but that seems to be the way it is with baby contraptions no? -It is easy to overflow while mixing (maybe I'm too aggressive). So I just measure out the total water I need, pour half of it in a different container and set aside, mix mix mix, then pour it back at the end and incorporate it in. I've found this method to work best for me. Yes definitely buy this, you will use it. You will use it so much that your spouse may laugh at your robotic movements when you go into auto mode as you prepare your hundredth pitcher of formula. Since there is nothing better on the market you may still be annoyed at the faults but most likely you will learn to ignore them because the advantages are good and anything that makes the parenting routine easier is worth it!

Great for mixing thickened formula like Enfamil AR!
It is amazing to me that something as simple as this jug is in construction and use makes such a massive difference to my daily routine! My son is on Enfamil AR, which is a pre-thickened formula for his acid reflux. It is almost impossible to mix a bottle without clumps being left behind. I had to mix the bottles in advance and either use the blender or strain the formula through a sieve to get the clumps out. It was incredibly time consuming, straining the formula defies the purpose of using a pre-thickened formula and blending it left loads of froth on the top, even on the slowest setting. I purchased Dr. Browns Mixing Jug out of a desperate attempt to make things easier and it worked! I sterilize the jug using Milton and then just give it a quick rinse out with left over boiled water from the kettle as I am not sure if it could handle my steam sterilizer without warping. I have put it in the top rack of the dishwasher and it has been fine though. I just put the amount of water and the required amount of formula in the jug, give the handle a few pumps up and down and voila perfectly mixed formula. No clumps, no froth perfect! The only slight problem I have noticed is that if you are mixing a large amount at a time (I make 32 ounces) you cannot put all the formula in at once as it piles up on top of the water and the cover cannot close properly to mix. I think this is a fault of the formula not the mixing jug. Unlike thinner formulas it does not start to dissolve immediately and stays at the top. What I do instead is put half the formula in first, mix, then add the rest, problem solved. The jug goes up to 40 oz, I doubt I will ever be able to mix that amount as after adding the formula when I make the 32 ounces the level of the milk is nearly to the top already. It is a minor thing that in no way detracts from how useful this jug is, I cannot recommend it enough!

easy to use & clean, HUGE time-saver for mom of twins
[This review is for model 925. There's a model 920 for sale that looks identical in the pictures--don't know how it's different.] We have twins, and this pitcher is an AWESOME timesaver/stress-reliever considering how we need to mix up at least FIFTY ounces of formula a day. We used to mix each bottle individually, which took way too long, sometimes left little clumps on the bottom, and always left lots of air bubbles (not to mention me with a sore arm). I do have to make 2 batches a day, but that's actually a good thing since I can adjust based on the idiosyncrasies of the previous half day and never end up with formula older than 24 hours. Easy to disassemble and clean because the plastic is very smooth. Formula rinses off easily. (But use soap, of course!) The entire process of making a batch of formula--from pitcher assembly to clean-up, and including hand washing and careful measuring of each scoopful--takes less than ten minutes. (If I used a measuring cup--which I probably will start doing soon--it would be faster.) Here is some advice based on other reviews: Fill with a little pre-planning: You have to consider how much volume the dry formula will add to the water before filling it; otherwise--yes--it may be overfull and could spill while you're mixing. (At least with Neosure, every dry scoop adds another 7 ml of mixed formula to the pitcher.) Also, depending on how much vigor you put into each pump as you're mixing, the level could be raised another 50-100 ml higher at the sides of the pitcher. LOCK the top: The top has two settings: Open and Closed/Mix. As the instructions instruct, you must attach the lid at the halfway point and rotate it a quarter turn to Closed/Mix before mixing (so spout is blocked); otherwise--yes--it may fly off on your up-stroke. This won't happen if you've secured the lid properly. Out of habit, I always have one hand on the lid as I pump, but I tried it once with no hand on the lid, just to see, and the lid did NOT pop off. Mix calmly with one-second-long pumps: The instructions say that each pump should last a second, and the entire mixing should take about a minute, i.e., sixty pumps. I count "one-hundred-and-one, one-hundred-and-two..." etc., and mix an extra 30 seconds to make sure all clumps are busted. You don't need to mix faster; doing so will add bubbles and create a whirlpool, possibly causing formula to splash up through the tiny space where lid meets pitcher. Pour calmly: Don't pour too fast, no matter how loudly your baby is screaming. Gentle pouring causes NO problems.

Great for EP mums especially
I like that it has the mixer. Eventhough it is meant for formula it works spectacularly for breastmilk. I collect my pumped breast milk for the day and put into milk bags end of day. Usually end of day, milk will be separated, so the mixer really helps.

Great product - but the top breaks!
I’ve already written another view for this item so I’ll be brief - the little handle expands at the top and no longer holds the mixer stick after about two months of use. It’s a great concept for a product, but they need to start selling replacement parts or build it stronger/out of different materials… great for short term or very occasional use. In which case… do you really need this? Maybe not.
