Bringing Down House

Bringing Down the House is one of those delightfully silly and outrageous comedies that never gets old no matter how many times you watch it. It's an absolute riot from start to finish! Steve Martin is in top form as the uptight tax attorney Peter Sanderson, who gets hilariously torn from his privileged white-collar world after being inadvertently set up with an online friendship with Charlene (Queen Latifah). She's an escaped convict who shows up at his doorstep and brings some much-needed chaos and life lessons to his perfectly ordered existence. The comedic culture clash between Martin and Latifah's characters provides endless laughs. Martin does brilliant physical comedy, fully committed to the outrageous scenarios Charlene drags him into. And Latifah is simply a force of nature, stealing every scene with her over-the-top persona and inability to be intimidated by the upper-crust snobs around her. The supporting cast is also fantastic, including Betty White in an iconic raunchy grandmother role that will have you rolling on the floor laughing. Every actor feeds perfectly off the central odd-couple pairing between Martin and Latifah. Beyond just being laugh-out-loud hilarious, the movie has surprising heart and positivity in its message about not judging a book by its cover. It's a sharp social satire wrapped in an outrageously fun package. With quotable lines galore, stellar comedic performances, and a never-ending stream of big laughs, Bringing Down the House remains one of the great goofy comedies of its era. It's an absolute blast from beginning to end - a true comedy classic! I've watched it countless times and it never fails to lift my spirits. Highly recommended!

Very entertaining movie

Great movie. Hilarious movie. Great cast. I’ve seen some people have been offended by some of the jokes in this movie. If you’re offended by this movie, you better never watch Blazing Saddles. It is a hilarious movie. This movie is for people with a sense of humor. Not people looking for something to complain about.

Although it's not a recent film, we watched this on a cold night while on vacation, it was one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time, can't remember laughing so much in ages, Steve Martin's dance moves are something else, don't want to say to much as I don't wish to spoil it. Great cast, fantastic film.
