Best I have found for BJJ
No ear guards are perfect. They all slip around a bit no matter how tight you make them and look dorky as hell. These are as comfortable, proctective, and as out of the way as currently possible. The chin strap pad is the most comfortable that I have used and the button snap is great for throwing it on quick. The head straps adjust easy however I would have preferred 4 instead of 3 but that's my preference. It works fine. The ear cups clean easy, are reasonably low profile, and only inhibit hearing slightly. The padding and low profile ensure I don't piss off my training partners because even if I tried I can't grind these things into them like the cheese grater that is the tornado. I thought the tornado was a little more comfortable and didn't inhibit hearing at all but if someone caught my head I could never get out because of how far the ear cups stick out. I have tried a lot of ear guards and these are the least annoying to deal with by far.

Best quality on the market
My son, who has many years wrestling experience with a few different styles of hedgear absolutely LOVES this model. He's had Asics, Adidas, and others. Cliff Keen models are his choice now. He says it's light, doesn't move much, and hardly noticeable. He had the Cliff Keen F-5 model and used it to it's last dying breath, which was just shy of 5 busy seasons. Can't go wrong with Cliff Keen products. Best quality on the market. The one major improvement we noticed is the Fusion seems to fit his head better. The rear straps seem to have a smidge more adjustability. Over all this would be his first suggestion to anyone seeking advice on headgear.

Cracking in less than 6 months.
These start off good and my son likes them. I purchased these in November 2018 and they started cracking by May 2019. The pictures are current condition. These were used roughly 4 times a week since bought. My son likes them accept for the cracking which is starting to irritate his face. They are supposed to have a 1 year warranty, but I have no idea how to put that to the test.UPDATEI have modified my original 1 star review to a 3 star review due to Cliff Keen customer service. I sent pictures of the issue and they will be sending out a replacement. It is nice to see a company stand behind their product.

Saved my ears/ BJJ
I've used this headgear for a little over a year. I love my training partners but after draining two mild cases of cauliflower ears, I had to do something. According to the research, this was the best choice for protecting my ears and my training partners.Only disappointment as mentioned in other reviews, they cracked within the two months. I had read previously that this was a norm so I didn't bother contacting the company however now I kind of wish I did.The Velcro chinstrap started becoming less secured about the 8 month mark. The straps tend to absorb bad odor from others so I wash and scrub them after every use which I'm sure contributed to the Velcro wear. Still difficult to keep the odor out. If I could I would replace all the straps but I don't see that being as an option, if it is please let me know!Aside from that, my ears have been saved, none of my regular training partners or anyone else I've rolled with has complained about me hurting them with the headgear so I consider it a win!

Great for jujitsu
I ordered this as a recommendation from other people in my jujitsu class. Initially, I bought one with a hard outer shell and my rolling partners were irritated that I didn't get the padded version. This one did the trick. I feel really protected, and after several intense rolling sessions, I only had the chin strap slip once.I can hear well enough, but let's be honest, the whole point is to avoid cauliflower ear, and it definitely works for that.I'd definitely buy this product again.

Best bjj headgear.
I use this for BJJ and it works well. I have bought 3 now because some one walked off with my first one and I lost my second visiting another gym. It is soft on my partners and says secure. I have tried the matman and a couple others and this headgear is the best IMO.

Worth the health benefits
DEFINITELY helps with healing or preventing cauliflower ear!!!!Based on everything I’ve researched, This is the best gear. It’s smooth on the exterior so it won’t hurt your training partners.Could use one more strap on top of head and better velcro. After a long session, the sweat prevents the velcro from sticking...Still quite cumbersome and practically impossible to get out of triangles... but totally worth the health benefits... tapping is better than the damage you’d suffer otherwise... just let yourself heal.

DOESN'T FIT AS WELL AS TORNADO, BUT IS SLEEKER
I still have my Tornado and am wondering how to get new pads for it. This is a sleeker design and is less bulky. I train Grace Jiu Jitsu at the HQ in Torrance and this headgear is worn by a few people. Ot definitely will stink less than the neoprene/fabric ones. I like it. Its just the Tornado has two, top straps and I think thats just a design issue. I'm still settling in on this one. I really enjoy the sleeker look and the overall form factor of it
