Check out the new title in the Histamine Intolerance Series - The Histamine Intolerance Cookbook, with EVERY INGREDIENT LABELED for Histamine Intolerance , and The Histamine Intolerance Journal; Track Symptoms, Find Solutions, Heal Yourself Review: Informative read - Was gifted to me as my allergies and intolerances are worsening . Easy read - some what Americanised i felt I have learned things and will make adjustments - many of the adjustments to diet will have to be trailed before giving a long term outcome review .. but was a great starting point Review: Histamine Intolerance Explained Comprehensibly and In Easy To Understand Terms - Until my functional nutritionist mentioned I could have Histamine Intolerance (HI), I'd never heard of it! Didn't even know food could contain histamine or alter the way it's absorbed or released. The internet is a minefield with lots of conflicting advice and food lists which contradict each other. I'm glad I found HI explained by Tony Wrighton. There are chapters on what HI is and how it can affect your body which are clearly explained and easy to understand. I found the SIGHI food list through the book which is the best and most comprehensive food list available. Advice on how to manage and track your condition, not only through diet, but also lifestyle and a comprehensive chapter on Supplements. There is a comprehensive explanation of the Ketosis diet. I was on the Keto diet when I was diagnosed with HI. whilst it's an excellent way of eating for weight loss, controlling type 2 Diabetes and generally feeling well, I found it too restrictive as the main things I loved eating on Keto all caused Histamine problems such as Bacon, avocados, aubergines, tomatoes, dark chocolate etc. I personally find a Paleo diet much better as there are more carbs allowed so, therefore, more variety. Instead of starting to look like Broccolli and Kale, I've been eating carrots, sweet potatoes, and other more starchy veg and more fruit. There are also links to a sister HI support and info website and an introduction to the excellent highly recommended HI cookbook. Criticisms; Some of the supplements and devices such as heart rate monitors and very expensive and beyond my budget. I also think more could have been mentioned of the role that Oestrogen, which gets one line, plays in women with HI as it has a major effect on the condition in women. Overall this book is highly recommended and I learned a lot through it.

Very good.
Finally a book, written by someone who understands, in a professional manner, in language mere humans can understand, taking the complex area of HA and making is simple so one can begin to help oneself. Thank you! My only criticism would be that it could have had more scientific explanation in areas. But for now, it's the best I've read on the subject. Some of the books out there are so crazy, you just don't know where to start.

No Author Information
A basic introduction to histamine intolerance. There’s relatively little help from the medical community for people who suffer from conditions which can’t readily be explained. This book seems to have a lot of answers, however with the caveat that you must consult your doctor before using any of the suggested remedies or suggestions mentioned in the book. As it’s almost impossible to find any doctor or medical practitioner familiar with histamine intolerance, then they are effectively saying you use the books suggestions at your own risk, so be warned. A lot of the supplements and additives are very expensive and if bought together can set you back. However if they work they would be worth it, but there’s no empirical evidence to say that they do. Also I would be more convinced if the so called health experts were named who put the book together as not one person is named except for Tony Wrightman, a podcaster and fellow sufferer of HI. At £12, it’s a light read with little substance. For the same money you can get a hardback novel!

It has helped me
There is a lot to learn. This book has helped me find direction. I’ve already been using SCD which has helped some. Now I’ve been guided in this direction I do find I am feeling so much better. Some of it contradicts what I’ve already learned, but I wouldn’t have been searching still if I wasn’t still suffering, it has helped me understand that maybe I need to mix and match the knowledge I’ve picked up on the way. I’m confident that knowing Histamine Intolerance exists, has already given me a chance. Ok Christmas was even more limited than usual but I was almost symptom free. Definitely worth it

A complicated and often confusing topic broken down into easy-to-digest bite-sized pieces.
This simple yet informative guide breaks down a complicated and often confusing topic into easy-to-digest bite-sized pieces. If you suspect you may be suffering from Histamine Intolerance or you're just curious to get a good overview of the subject, this is for you. The suggestions in this book are importantly both holistic and high quality and as a Nutritional Therapist, I use a lot of these practices with my own clients. Have a read! It's time well spent.

Thankful l found it
These books are so easy to read and understand. I bought all 3 and am using them all together. I use the journal as a guide and have my own food diary. I started the three day low histamine diet and then blew it by eating an almond croissant. Now l have to start all, over again! As another reviewer noted, l have had to give up all the goodies. Interestingly l have found that the majority of foods on the high list are ones l avoid anyway. But l do like my salad dressings. Oh well. I did find that the supplements and heart rate monitors were too expensive for me. However a big thank you to Tony for putting all this information together.
