Delicious
I really didn't know much about this type of chocolate and took a chance and got a box. This was a Christmas present for my wife but after all the good stuff we read we had to break into it a month early. I thought to myself how much differently could this really taste than the American chocolate I am used to. It comes in a box that you get to unwrap and untie the bow. This chocolate is the best ever and after tasting and finishing off the entire box we couldn't wait to get another. That will have to wait though for the price but it was worth what we paid. Do yourself a favor and pay the price just to try it out.

Satisfying
This year we ordered these dark chocolates and also bought a package of dark chocolates from Godiva. The Godiva dark chocolate box is $36 for 10.5 oz. (really, it's on their website). These are the same price for a full pound. And they come from Belgium, where people are very fussy about chocolates, and proud of their chocolates. It is not just the price. The taste difference is amazing. These are the real thing, a pleasure from first to last. We lived in France, where chocolate shops abound, and Leonidas was quite competitive against the artisan shops.

Stick to Godiva
My wife invaded her box of Leonidas Dark Chocolates a couple of days before Valentine’s Day. The overall quality of the candy selection was very adequate, but the the candy packaging left much to be desired. Instead of being neatly packaged with separators, she discovered the Leonidas Chocolates scattered piecemeal in the gold box. A couple of the flatter candy pieces were were broken, one even looking like it been gnawed by a small child or a juvenile beaver. I think next I’ll trust Godiva for chocolate gift giving.

Best chocolates I have ever had.
Magnificent! I have yet to have eaten a piece that didn't curl my toes. This chocolate is that good. There's absolutely no bitterness in the dark chocolates, the fillings are to die for. I had always heard that European fine chocolates were better than American, but I had no idea they would be this good. Russell Stover, Whitmans...not even close--not in the same ballpark...and the chocolate aftertaste lasts on the palette for a good while.

Disappointing - not for dark chocolate lovers
If you are a dark chocolate lover, this is not satisfying. After a recent trip to Brussels, we had the opportunity to try many amazing chocolatiers but skipped out on Leonidas as they seemed more "mass market". After missing the taste of yummy Belgian dark pralines, I decided to give this one a try. It is a good value for your dollar in terms of quantity, but the chocolate itself was not what I imagined it to be based on reviews. The chocolate tasted bland and diluted. At times, I questioned whether they were milk chocolates. It was nice to get two of each type, but the chocolate was missing that "melt in your mouth", dark decadence I was craving. The fillings weren't really remarkable either. It seemed as through they recycled the same butter cream and crisp filling quite often.

Best chocolate I have ever had.
By far the best chocolates I have ever tasted. I try to get this for my wife at least once a year, the shipping kills me, but it's still cheaper than straight through Leonidas. I haven't even had a piece the last 2 times I have ordered this because I know how much my wife enjoys it. It seems really expensive for chocolate, but it's chocolate on a whole different plain than Sees or other brands. Give it a try I am sure you will enjoy it.
