CardioChek Cholesterol Test Strips 6 ct.

I found CardioChek machine and test strips to be more accurate and easier to use than another brand I used to have.

I have used these and their predecessor (bioscanner) for several years and they seem to be accurate and are easy to use. Just follow directions carefully - fast 8 hrs before, clean finger,lance, wipe off first drop of blood, insert strip, quickly close bottle of strips and apply blood (don't need to use the pipette though - just drop blood on strip).

When I compare the results of the test strips used in the CardioChek device with actual lab results when I have bloodwork done, the actual lab resuls are almost always about 20 mg/dL higher than what I get with these test strips. I ordered some calibration test solutions, but the tolerance of the solutions are ridiculousy wide according to the paperwork that comes with them, so they are pretty worthless as far as using them to compensate for the readings I'm getting.

After my husband's open heart surgery we decided to get a tester and keep tabs on his cholesterol at home. so far this has worked great along with his reports from his doctor.

These were ordered for personal use, but I don't think I will be ordering this again. I was disappointed that both boxes expire in 2018. I only test every 3 months, and therefore these will expire before I get to use all of them. I think when you order something of this sort in quantity both boxes should not have the same expiration date. I have another place I can order them in single box, which would be more beneficial to me. Also, the price is cheaper as they are only $14 a box for 3. I ordered these because of the convenience with Amazon. Prior to this, I was able to order only one box or 3 test strips. Now that this has changed, it is no longer beneficial to me.

I use it to monitor my cholesterol. It is a valuable health tool.

I've been using these for a year and have not had any issues. Buying the smaller count you don't run into expiration issues. I will continue to purchase in the future.
