This is awesome and brought my gameboy sp screen to life. Now I can see the game and I even have several different levels of brightness. It was easy to install if you have a little experience in working on handhelds and consoles. Would buy again if I had another gameboy sp.

This screen is amazing! It’s a huge upgrade over the standard front lit one. The colors and brightness are great, and there’s no hazing if you don’t look at it perfectly straight on. I feel it’s a bit pricey but i love it. Also the wire that came with it didn’t have enough flux on it so i wasn’t able to solder it into place to control the brightness, that really bugged me because now i have to open the thing back up and get some proper wire to finish the mod. For those two reasons I’m giving four otherwise it’d be an easy 5 star product. I’d like to mention if you’re doing a full rebuild like i did you should consider getting some replacement hinges. They’re easy to overlook (and break) but a very important part of the console. Thankfully mine popped right out but it isn’t always like that. Also get a good tool kit if you’re doing this don’t trust the amazon tools they’re trash and will likely strip your screws or themselves because they’re made of the cheapest, thinnest metal possible. I’m speaking from experience it’s not just a jab. “Ifixit” makes a fantastic kit that comes with every bit you’ll need and then some for like 30 bucks.

This is the best screen to get for a game boy advance sp, what an upgrade vs the stock screen, you will be impressed with the brightness, the pixels are way more than the stock screen, way better to see and not hazy, almost like watching a little mini tv! Get this screen if you still have the stock one in your game boy advance sp, your not gonna be disappointed with it. I guarantee it! Be very careful with the ribbon when installing it and you’ll be fine!

The picture and brightness are top tier. However the amount of power it drains from the battery is ridiculous. The origional battery still got me all day playing a game. After i swapped the screen, it lasts for 10 minutes. I upgraded the battery to a mahko(sorry if i misspelled) battery and it still only gets about 30 minutes tops. A redesign in the power consumption is a must. Im only giving 3 stars due to how horrendous the power consumption is. Other than that the component is great and performs amazingly.

Very easy to use! Came in a neat box (NO tools only screen installation kit) only modifications are the screen backing plate cut out as shown in diagram and if you'd like to access more brightness alil wire comes in the kit to solder from ribbon ( little gold spot) to Q12b on circuit board but default no solder installation brightness is good enough.

Like the title says, you get what you pay for. Screen is top notch. Games are more vivid & detailed. It is also nice that if you decide to solder the wire from ribbon cable to motherboard, you are able to cycle through 10 levels of brightness via the GBA SP's brightness button.
