Everything i was looking for
I was looking for a usb headset for music and gaming, and did i find one. this thing has amazing sound quality for music, i'm really surprised at how advanced this headset is, especially for the price. overall this headset has very nice build quality, it has quite a bit of plastic on it, but that doesn't comprehend the quality at all. it is solidly built, surprising for a non-us based company and chinese built product. have worn the headset for about an hour now, it is still comfortable, the ear pieces are a leathery plush that is firm yet soft. haven't tested it for gaming yet, but i'd imagine if it's this good for music it must be great for gaming. it comes with advanced software including settings for but not limited to crystallizer, bass, surround sound, and more aas well as an EQ, Voice FX, and custom sound profiles from professional gamers and their teams such as complexity and team dignitas for games such as WoW, COD, CS, SC, etc. the detachable mic is a nice addition as well, i can put it in when i need it and take it out when i don't. the cord is not too long, and not too short, and it feels very strong. the nice addition of a 3.5mm to 3.5mm plug is very nice as well. the only problem's i've found it it is a bit laggy when you have the bass up high, when you listen to a song with very low and higher frequencies it will go from low to high and feel a bit choppy, but that may just be that i don't have the EQ balanced correctly, this can add a nice touch to a song though too *when the loudness is up too high the crossover can make the bass laggy, i corrected this by turning it down all the way to -12db*. not only that but it feels as though it lacks some bass, but it still has quite a bit, i have yet to play around with all the settings to see how much bass it truly has. if you don't use the EQ or extra settings it has better quality than the harman kandron speakers on my laptop, it's very nice. these aren't too heavy at all, they're very light.nothing to take any stars off, it's a very nice product and worth the price, better than razer carcharias headset by a long shot. i'm truly surprised by this brand, they've got some good stuff.

Some Good, Some Bad, Points...
Great:- Sound Quality is fantastic!- Removable microphone was a selling point for me.- Though a bit heavy, the earpieces surround the ear and block a lot of ambient noise.- Easy to install/use even without using the accompanying software, PnP for just integrating with the OS sound system.- Battery charge is as advertised, used it continuously as headphones listening to podcasts and music for well over 16 hours of operation.- Micro-USB cord is extra long (at least a metre, if not four feet long) and braided for heavy-duty use."Ehh" to Bad- Range is nowhere near the advertised 42 feet. 15' to 20' is common around the house. Anything beyond that depends on how many intervening walls and where you've placed the USB adapter (front or back of your machine). Crystal-clear sound while a connection is active though.- Easy to charge, just use the provided USB to Micro-USB cord in any charging adapter.- In order to use through the provided 2.4 Ghz USB transmitter (which is the whole point of the "wireless") you have to (at least I did on W7 Ult. x64) "choose" the Rage USB Headphones listed in the OS sound panel of "Playback Devices" as your "default" in order to get the main sound out to your headphones. Otherwise, they're listed as just "ready." Not a big deal, just drag the "Sound" icon from your Control Panel and place a shortcut where you prefer (toolbar or desktop), and certainly keeps from having two sounds floating around.- (Edit) I forgot to mention one other detraction. The battery is completely internal; once it's gone, it's gone. No replacement is likely unless you can take it completely apart and find a generic battery online to replace it. Most RF-style headphones operate on standard batteries (like AA's).I was looking for a wireless headphone set to replace the inexpensive Sentry RF headphones I've been using. I wasn't happy with the other RF types from JVC, RCA, Rockpoint, or Sony, mainly because of how expensive they are comparatively to the Sentry (which is a pretty decent unit). With the prices on the RF's getting into the $80, $90, and $100 ranges, I looked about at the gaming alternatives, and found the SB Rage series. The removable microphone is what decided it for me. I don't game MMO's anymore, but I might down the road. I DO use the home PC for telephone, skype, and general teleconferencing though. And, this unit gives me that ability while allowing me to remove the microphone when I want to just listen to music or a sports podcast. No one else lives with me (except my dog), so the flash and lights were not a selling point. However, they do - if you learn the meanings - indicate "in use", "not in use", "charging", and that's all I've discovered so far. Since I haven't loaded the software, not necessary to use other than for gaming, I can't review how that stuff works. If I were SB, I'd look into making these broadcast on the new 5Ghz spectrum to avoid interference with so many other devices people use that are 2.4Ghz: no doubt that contributes to cutting the range. I can't emphasize enough though, the sound quality is SUPERB.Update: They lasted about two weeks then went haywire. Lights came on when power button pushed, but wouldn't stay on. I debated just getting a replacement pair, bu then decided I didn't want to run the risk of another failure happening outside the return period. Got some sony's instead. Still great sound though. I almost went for the SB wireless rf system for pc audio, but decided not to gamble again for now.
