without requiring a cable lock through the wheels (which are pretty easy to cut anyway)
I bought these for a Ritchey TI CX I use for travel. I wanted something that would lock the main components on my bike, without requiring a cable lock through the wheels (which are pretty easy to cut anyway). Mounting was easy. I've used it when traveling when locking my bike up, and had no issues. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that the stem cover didn't fit into my steerer tube... the diameter of the insert was too big. This requiring heavy modification (grinding away quite a bit of aluminum) to get it to work.

Limited application with Fat Tire bikes
The Amazon page for this product is inaccurate in the dimensions provided. It states the the front axle skewer is 6.5" and the rear skewer is 9.5" (or that is how I read it, anyway). Actually the front skewer is 5" and the rear is 6.5".That said - the product still ended up working for me because I was only interested in using it on the front axle of my Fat tire e-bike, the seat post, and handle bar stem. The 6.5" rear skewer works fine on my front axle.

Special seat post clamp required! No instructions
The seat clamp for seat post requires separate special clamp, so when I went to install the seat lock on my standard clamp, it got stuck, and I had to remove the clamp, and had to bend it beyond repair to get the lock off! Amazon does not even sell the specialised clamp, and no such instructions come with the set. Very convoluted.

Only one pit
This set only comes with one pit. It's a great set besides that!

Avoid these skewers: keys are *very* hard to deal with
I have been buying various brands of locking bicycle skewers for about 20 years, since Kryptonite's came out. I own 2 types of Kryptonite, OnGuard, PinHead, and these Pitlocks. They are by far the worst of the 5 kinds I have owned. The very worst thing is that Pitlock does not print a serial number on the key bit. They have perfectly friendly but terrible customer service (at least for U.S. customers -- they are based in Germany). Therefore getting an extra key depends on recording the key details when you first open the package. If you somehow lost that serial number (and such things are hard to track over months or years) the ONLY way to get another key is to send your single key all the way to Germany. Pitlock cannot work from a photograph. This is obviously highly impractical, and if heaven forbid you *lose* your key, you are completely out of luck. It cost me $75 to get a set of Pitlocks cut off by a competent mechanic. In addition, Pitlock's website makes it difficult to order new keys *even when you have the details*. I went through the process, properly I think, and the transaction *still* did not go through. It's now been a year, and I am living in fear I am going to lose this key now that I cannot find the original packaging.Contrast Pitlock with all other locking skewer manufacturers, who print serial numbers, have simple websites, and make it easy to get keys. Do yourself a favor and choose a better manufacturer.(To be fair, the mechanical construction has nice positive engagement. They key is very light, though that also makes it small and easy to misplace, or toss out while confusing it for some random nut leftover from home improvement)
