Where is this flashlight made?

Joey listen, im telling you the truth. First i love USA made everything with few exceptions, this is one of them. MagLite-sucks, Surefire is mediocre esp at its price point, and Streamlight is good. But the real heavyhitters are Chinese in the LED world. FENIX is top notch as is NITECORE, THRUNIGHT, EagleTac and ive heard Olight is on Par as a good brand. These are the lights u want if ur serious Quality. I hate saying it but Streamlight is the only maker that can hang with these guys, and half of there line is made in China anyway. I own msny a LED and im giving it to u straight. Hope this will help

Can the switch be "locked out" to keep it from turning on if the light is packed in something like a backpack?

You have to push in the button on the bottom of the unit to turn it on. Mine takes an effort so I doubt it would come on from being banged around in a backpack

How does light hold up to recoil as a weapon light? Have had D battery lights and they all get dented batteries and stop working just riding in truck

I've had mine since Aug. 2013. Fairly regular use (at least weekly) and dropped it off my bike once at about 25 MPH. Other than scratches in the paint and a nick by the switch in the back where it hit the asphalt, it works exactly as new. I would have no concerns about mounting it on a weapon. It's a solid piece of hardware.
