Betta Fish: The Simple Guide to Caring for Your Magical Betta

The information included is excellent. The species history is fascinating for a fish nerd like me. The only thing that I feel was missing is a list of appropriate plants for an aquascaped beta aquarium.

This would be a great first book to read about betta fish. It serves well as an overview. It’s a quick, easy read, but you’ll be left wanting more.

Got this book for our daughter as part of an Christmas gift (tank, fish, etc). She had already done a lot of research on Bettas online but has learned some new things from this book.She frequently has it out to reference things as she takes care of her new Betta tank setup. A good read with a plethora of useful info for Betta care.

We bought our son a new Betta for a homeschool project. He really wanted to know how to take care of him and learn all he could about his new pet. This has been a great book of reference for him, he refers back to it often and has taught us so much. This is a great resource for kids who want to learn about Betta fish. Highly recommend for kids and adults.

Book “BETTA FISH The Simple Guide toCaring for Your Magical Betta” by Walter James was informative as it was a delightful easy read. Packed with super details… a must have. I chose the hardback to last hoping to pass book along with future Betta lovers in family.

I was excited for this book for it being about how to care for a betta fish but unfortunately it doesn't have enough caring information about a betta fish. For example, the book talks about live plants but doesnt go into depth on what kind of live plants are good for betta fish. It seems that this book is mainly about the history and different types of betta fish that are out there. What I do like about the book is the sorority, easy to know diseases and how to treat them, and tip and tricks information.

I wasn't sure about the book when I first saw it. Once I started reading, I found it to be absolutely perfect. It is simple, concise, informative but not loaded with stuff that would be over a beginner's head. In short, it is exactly what I was looking for. I will be keeping it close at hand as my reference book on betta.

This is a sweet little book that has all the basic info needed to start with bettas. The writing is friendly and easy to understand. There aren't any color pictures, but that's OK for the price. I wish there were an index, but the table of contents is detailed enough. There wasn't any info about swim bladder diseases, which is common enough that it ought to be included. Perhaps in a second edition? It would also be nice to have a brief bio of Mr. James, the author, and an updated list of references (which are very helpfully included!). Overall, a nice book to get started with betta ownership.

This is an excellent book, it has a lot of info in it.I wish there were photos in it for those of us who like to see the photos.But other than that, I highly recommend it.

Good and informative book for someone new to Betta fish keeping. The author’s passion for Betta fish shone through and made this book a real pleasure to read.
