The Friendly Swede Stylus Pen for Touchscreen with Replaceable Thin Tips

In my household, there are five users of tech gadgets! Included are myself, my husband and our three kiddos. So needless to say, stylus pens have become very popular here. Not only do they keep fingerprints off the screen but they also help those with bigger digits (hubby) see what they are selecting "on screen" more easily. In the past we have tried several styli designs. The ones with pens on one end that you flip upside down to use the stylus were a flop for us. These inevitably leaked ink everywhere and even after cleaning up the mess, then using the stylus alone, they always wore out shortly after. Others we had tried had huge tips that reminded us of those beginner crayons toddlers sometimes use. Hubby's fingertips were smaller than those! Onward in my quest for the perfect stylus, I found this bundle from "The Friendly Swede" and I'm so happy I did! The bundle comes with three pens, an additional set of three replacement heads and three lanyards. I'll admit, we don't use the lanyards much but I can see where they'd definitely come in handy at a modern office that uses tablets and such. You wouldn't have to worry about losing yours! The pens themselves are very well made and sturdy. They are made from aluminum and stainless steel so there's no plastic to crack on you! They have a very nice weight to them and feel very smooth in your hands. They are just a tad bit thicker in diameter than a standard wooden pencil so gripping is easy for us. If you do find that you need a bigger grip though, I would imagine a pencil grippy could be placed on these but I have not personally had a need to try that. There is also a "clip" on these pens such as you find on ink pens. They easily clip onto a chest pocket with no need to worry about ink stains. Moving on to the tips, they are a bit smaller than a rounded off eraser you'd find on a standard wooden pencil. Definitely much smaller and precise than the pad of my index finger! This may not be ideal for handwritten notes as an ultra fine tip might work better for that but these do the job just fine for us. Again, much better than our index finger pads do! Next, I want to talk about the replacement heads. There are three heads/tips included that are already installed on the styli with an additional three included for future use. We have not had the need to replace our tips/heads yet but for the sake of a thorough review, I changed one to see if it would be a difficult task. NOPE! It's extremely easy! The silver colored part at the tip of the stylus unscrews, you pull the old tip off and put the new one on, then simply screw the silver colored piece back on. Easy as pie! The tips/heads slide effortlessly across the screens for us too. No catching or skipping that we've noticed at all! Customer service from "The Friendly Swede" is fabulous also! I did need to contact them due to the postal service annihilating my original package. The replied very quickly, in a courteous manner and solved my problem instantly! Super awesome customer support! We have a lot of "devices" in our house that need this type of pen. We've tried several other kinds, including much more expensive pens. We originally bought a different set of these from this seller because of the great color combinations. Well, we found out that not only are they great looking, they work better than any of the other capacitive pens that we've tried! This is a repeat purchase for us, getting a different color combination. Again, fabulous results from The Friendly Swede - well packaged, shipped quickly and great pens! When I opened the package, I was immediately swarmed with (older) kids wanting a certain color! (That's fine with me, but there WILL be trouble if anyone takes Mom's green one! I have permanent 'dibs' on anything in apple green that enters the house. Ha!) If you are not having as great a response with your touch screen as you might like, check your pen. There are differences in the quality of these pens (although a lot of people sell them now), and they DO wear out. My old pen (from the same seller) did not look that bad, but I noticed that I was having to drag or retouch some things more often. The pen didn't look worn out, but it was getting there. (Using it several times every day for months - go figure that it wore out!) The new pen made an immediate difference. I just don't think you can find a better pen or a better seller. The color combinations available here are beyond compare (and what first caused me to purchase here). Everyone will find something that they like. The seller also offers a big variety of pen SIZES, so if you have very small hands, you want one for a child, or you need a bigger size, you'll find a pen here that will work for you. I'm just so pleased with these. I got six pens for a little less than I paid for ONE pen from another seller. The more expensive pen came in a nice box (which was immediately discarded), but it didn't really do much else. That was why I came back to Amazon to shop for a different pen in the first place. You don't have to shop here, but honestly, why would you want to shop any place else? Yes, I'm a huge fan - when you've never had a bad experience with a seller, you notice! So, add some color to your life, and grab a package of these capacitive pens. They work so well! I wore mine out on my Nook, but my kids use them for the Nook, Fire and of course, their phones. I prefer using a stylus with my Kindle Fire. I had one with a short, thick barrel and didn't find it precise enough. I then got one with a longer, thinner barrel and really liked it. Unfortunately, the tip wore out. When I went to order another, it was only sold by a marketplace seller, which meant shipping charges. I noticed this set, which I could get with Prime, and like the fact that it came with extra tips and I got 3 of them for less than one of the one I was going to get. These have the thicker barrel, but it is longer. Because the tip is tapered, it is more precise than the other thick barreled one I had and didn't like. The tip is also firmer, which I think helps with the precision. You get 3 of the stylus, 3 additional tips, and a cleaning cloth. I'm not sure if you are supposed to get 3 lanyards, but my set came with only 2. They are longer than the other stylus. Haven't decided if that is an advantage or not. It does have a clip to plug into the headphone jack. I think I am going to like these and won't need to look for new ones any time soon.

UPDATED REVIEW- 1/19/2014 After my initial review and 3-star rating, someone from The Friendly Swede contacted me and thanked me for my feedback, offering me a replacement set of my choice. I was leaning toward just getting another set of the 5.5" thin tipped version- thinking it was a fluke that one of the 3 I originally received seemed defective (more on that later). But I was also curious about the 4.5" thicker tipped ones since they were shorter and might be a little more convenient to keep with my tablet. I ended up going with the 5.5" ones, but they ALSO included a set of the 4.5" styli!! And both reps I dealt with were extremely friendly and nice. This is clearly a company dedicated to great customer service. So now I've had a chance to test both types from the Friendly Swede, and also a few other styli (including Wacom Bamboo). Hands down, Friendly Swede wins for excellent quality and value, and outstanding customer service. And the colors they offer are gorgeous. I've had to adjust my expectations about how a capacitive stylus is supposed to work. Basically, it isn't a pen- and even the thinnest of styli aren't going to give you the experience of a pen on paper. The new Microsoft Surface has a very thin tipped, pressure sensitive Pro Pen-which is kind of what I had expected in a stylus. But that is a special technology- and it's still not the same as paper and pen- it feels weird to have a hard tip writing on glass. So now, knowing the limits of capacitive styli, and having spent quite some time playing with different types, I am very happy with the Friendly Swede styli. Even the silver one I originally thought was defective isn't so bad, now that my expectations are adjusted. I can't see any reason to ever purchase another brand of stylus. Original review- 1/8/2014 I wanted to love these, I really did. Based on the ratings, everyone else does. But the tips are not as thin as I expected, and the first one I tried out of the package (silver) didn't work very well- I had to press REALLY hard in order to get my Nexus 7 to respond. I tried the next one (black) and it was a little better- but I still had to press hard and it was not as precise as I would have liked. The third one (red) was about the same as the black, maybe a little better. But none of them are as precise or responsive as the ballpoint pen/penlight/stylus gizmo I got as a gift a few months ago, which these were intended to replace. Upon further inspection, the tip on the silver stylus sticks out a lot further than the other two. I tried changing out the tip, but no matter what tip or cowling I put on the silver one, it always sticks out a lot further. I think this is the source of the problem- the tip sticks out too far and creates a little bubble at the end of the stylus that is too fragile/squishy. If you hold the styli up side by side, the silver sticks out the furthest, the black sticks out less, and the red a little less than that-which roughly corresponds to their performance. All of them stick out further than the pen/stylus I've been using- and because the tips are narrower, it makes them less stable. Other than that, they're great- the form factor is good, I love the lanyards, and they are a great value. My husband tried them out on his Microsoft Surface and he agreed the silver one is a problem but he finds the other two OK. So we will be keeping them. But I will continue searching for another solution. I just can't get used to writing with a fat, imprecise stylus. Maybe I'm just too picky and I should give up on the idea entirely- I suppose you can't expect a stylus on a tablet to ever approach pen and paper.

I ordered the friendly swede bundle of 6 stylus for my parent's ipad. Sad to say they didn't want a stylus, but I bought it for them anyway because I care about them, and know them well enough to know when they don't know what their talking about. For months there was always fingerprints all over the screen and once it got so bad (after a fried chicken meal) that the screen couldn't register anything touching it. I was so freaked that they broke it, but then I wiped it clean on my jeans and it worked again. I thought it would be best to reduce the chances of such a gross situation from happening ever again. After looking around for a few days, researching different types of screens, styli, and reviews I settled on this pack... then I walked away with it sitting in my cart until I could convince my parents to buy them and myself that it wasn't a spur of the moment decision. It never happened so I ordered for them and just told them after the fact. THEY ARE SO HAPPY NOW. And if it's not in plain sight they ask if I could find it. REASONS WHY I CHOSE THIS PRODUCT I liked the price, 6 styli and a cleaning cloth for less than $10. There were others out there where 1 was $15!! I liked the different color options I heard that styli don't have the longest lifespan so I wanted to have replacements on hand when I needed them. The size didn't seem too long or short. AFTER USING FOR A MONTH So happy with my purchase! These are 4.5 inches long (and feel like holding a pen) so if you want a different size, they do make them. they are beautiful! they are durable These glide across the screen, no dragging feel, and the tablet does register it easily. I have yet to find a problem. I checked the quality and the metal body would have to be run over by a train to break, the tip is pleasantly soft and smooth and resists removal. quality and quantity for a good price.

Didn't like the colors I got!

The Friendly Swede Stylus with micro-knit mesh tips are by far the best stylus I have ever used. The micro-knit mesh tips make for a smoother glide and can be replaced whenever needed (usually after several months). They easily screw out and a new replacement tip in with no tools required. The last package I purchased came with 3 fiber tip 5.3" stylus pens (which come in different colors and different lengths), 3 replacement tips (which can be purchased separately also), 3 lanyards with 3.5mm dust plugs and a screen cleaning cloth. It all comes in a nice resealable see-through case which I am most appreciative of because with all the additional parts it allows you to keep everything together. Although they may be a little more expensive initially over the long term they are the better buy because of their greater quality and reusability. I have used other types of styli and they don't last nearly as long because the rubber tips rip so easily and quickly and apply more friction to your touchscreens. The lanyards are also very useful since they allow you to attach one end to your stylus and then plug the other end into the headset jack which prevents the stylus from getting misplaced and dust from accumulating inside the jack. If that isn't enough there is also a "Friendly Swede Lifetime Warranty" on this product. I've been using these for a little more than three years and after purchasing the first set of styli I have never had to purchase another stylus because all I have needed were the replacement tips. In the past when I bought other styli after the tips wore out quickly and easily I had to throw them away. Not only does this make the Friendly Swede product economically better but also environmentally better. I suggest you give them a try and decide for yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Ersatzspitzen liegen bei - "Metalgewebe, dennoch weich), sehr haltbar Wer möchte kann den Pen mittels einer nicht störenden Öse am oberen Ende des Pens und einem durchgefädelten Bändchen fest mit einem Gerät verbinden. Schöne Farben, Pens sehen elegant aus und man arbeitet sehr gut mit ihnen. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt! Glatte Kaufempfehlung

Excellent stylus pens, I have purchased these pens before and they have lasted a long time, but also they are quality pens and very accurate. They do not wear out after a few weeks like other makes do. I would honestly recommend these pens to anyone.
