Awesome book a must for anyone dealing with bi polar!
This book is about taking control of bi polar and not letting it take control of you. The worksheets and information contained in the book are outstanding and easy to understand. It helped me to understand my condition and how it effects my life and those around me. I was so excited with the information, lessons and worksheets that you fill out that I shared it with my therapist. She is recommending it to other clients now. If you ever wanted to understand your bi polar and why you act or react the the things, people and environment around you then buy this book and start learning to control your condition.

wonderful
I had been looking for a guide/workbook for this. Most books don't cover exercises in depth to help and the few guides I have found, frankly were written so poorly they were of no use.Then I discovered the Bipolar workbook! All I can say is WOW! Lots of exercises for dealing with bipolar, depression. Dealing with the highs and the lows- or worse. Dealing with your diagnosis. Accepting it. (And I have never seen acceptance in any bipolar book)Start 2006 off right and get this new book if you are bipolar or have a friend who is.

Helpful for you and family
As a clinical social worker I have given this book to several clients as well as my own adult son. It has been useful for them as well as their families in understanding Bipolar Disorder as a diagnosis and goes on to be very helpful in planning life strategies for success. The book does convey that medication is a necessity for success which can turn some people off but it provides plenty of concrete coping skills for other ways to manage moods. Family members find it helpful to understand and provide more appropriate support to their loved one. It is easily readable and the guide at the beginning gives you an idea of what to read to meet you where you are currently in your understanding and beliefs about Bipolar. It directs you clearly about use of the workbook format and tools. Definitely recommend this.

If you are suffering or have a loved one suffering, don't hesitate to buy this book. It has helped with understanding, patience, and most of all CARING for a loved on in need of it!!! Take the chance and become informed!!! You won't regret it!!!! TCB

I absolutely love this book
I absolutely love this book. It's been so easy to use that I've worked 3x, and book marked specific exercises so i can work through certain situations in a flash.I use a composition book, it's become a journal for me and allows me to use the book again and again. I've also been able to hand it off to loved ones so they can see just what I deal with on a daily basis.

Great workbook for kids and adults with bipolar
I used this book extensively both directly and to help me plan and create my own tools for my Bipolar clients during my MSW internship. Definitely a life saver and amazingly helpful. Most used book in my professional library so far, by a long shot. Has amazing tips, worksheets, and exercises for clients, and great information for clinicians. I would say a must have

Well written, but didn't hold my attention.
Pros:Well priced.Fairly thorough.Clear text is very legible.Con:Overly large; this could have been smaller without issue.Cheap paper; it's thin and tears very easy when just turning pages.Boring. Absolutely boring. The information is good, but it is painfully difficult to get through. I read for pleasure and I read for education; this book was very dry and while easy to follow it just couldn't keep my attention. It has gone on to be donated at my local library to fulfil its purpose in the hands of someone else.

Most helpful book for those with bipolar.
Genuinely useful and helpful book. Guides you through exercises using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and leads you to a better understanding as to why the moods occur and how to help to make them less severe. Once the worksheets are all filled in, you have the best tools right in front of you to help with future depression and mania written by the person who knows the most about you: you.

This is a great book to own for anyone who is interested in learning about bipolar disorder or who has the illness.I like how this book is written, it's easy to read.

Utile pour aider à vivre un peu mieux avec la maladie
Je recommande chaudement ce livre à tous ceux qui ont été dûment diagnostiqués bipolaires par un psychiatre et sont suivis pour cela. Le livre est un petit compagnon qui m'a aidée à mieux comprendre certaines choses, comme tenir un cahier de l'humeur.

I am a wife/carer of someone who lives alongside Bi Polar [of course was commonly known as Manic depression]This publication is what I would call an #all rounder# its good for those that can monitor their illness and see where there mood swings and gradious ideas are coming from, or if they are on a level or not as there are worksheets to tick.I know when my husbands mental health is sliding but he doesn't always recognize the signs so it gives me a solid visual aide to show him.I lent this book to my husbands CPN [community phychiatric nurse] ..sorry for spelling....not my best attribute! She has now recommended this book to many at the clinic including doctors, its one of the best publications I have come across and I have been in this cycle of mental health because of my husbands illness for over 28 yrs now. So I kid you not, you won't be disappointed as a sufferer, or a carer, or a practitioner.
