Superb!
The Plantronics Voyager Edge is an impressive headset, and packs the right balance of features, usability, and comfort to make it the go to choice for high end bluetooth headsets. Let me start by saying that I have for years been a Jawbone user. Without turning this into a complete Jawbone rant I will warn those comparison shoppers out there—a group to which I belonged—beware of the latest Jawbone offering. Having been a longtime user of the original Jawbone, then the Era, I initially sought out the new Jawbone Era, despite shoddy reviews. And this, even after having read such positive reviews of the Edge. Save yourself the trouble and go with the Edge. The Edge, unlike the new Era, provides great sound quality for the people with whom you are speaking on the other end. This would seem to be a primary qualifier for any headset that you are going to drop over $100 on. After all, who wants a headset that nobody can hear you on? I have had the Edge for several weeks and regularly solicit feedback on the call quality from those on the other end. So far so good. The Edge has great battery life. I listen to a lot of podcasts, audiobooks, and internet radio with the headset. I have found this to be one of the most enjoyable features of the newer bluetooth headset capabilities. Although not scientifically based, I don’t doubt the 6 hour talk time estimate, and the handy charger case makes it very convenient to extend the time well beyond that. The Edge is the most comfortable headset I have tried out of the box. I have very small ears and have historically used a custom made insert with my headsets. Although I will continue to do so, I have been using the small silicone insert that came with the Edge and have been pleasantly surprised. I can wear the Edge for about 2 hours at a time before my ear becomes fatigued. One downside, however, is that it doesn’t form a tight seal. This means you will often have to crank the volume up to be able to hear in noisy environments. This is a fairly small quibble, and one that will be fixed with a custom ear insert. The size of the headset was an initial detractor. I was used to the tiny Era (original) and had then tried the even tinier new Era. But I found that small size definitely does not equal better quality. While the size is considerably larger than its chief competitor at Jawbone, it is not a heavy headset, and is still very comfortable. An unforeseen benefit of the Edge’s size is that it is harder to lose. Much to my chagrin, I have lost or accidentally washed my previous Era headsets (while in pants pockets) more times than I’d like to admit. I don’t think I’m as likely to do that with this headset, which is a bit meatier and more apparent when in a pocket. Finally, the sound quality for streaming audio may be the one area in which the Edge doesn’t beat out the Era. Era’s HD audio is still superior, but not by a wide margin. I’m obliged to mention this, but I wouldn’t let it deter anyone’s decision on whether to use this headset over another, particularly the Era. Plantronics has created a winner here, and I hope to have many more months and even years of good use from this headset.

Best ear piece I've ever owned
Let me first say that I've only had this for one day, and literally only used it for a little over an hour, on 3 different calls on my commute home. I originally starting looking for an ear piece because of law changes that are happening on Jan 1. I only wanted one for driving. I didn't really care to have it for any other purpose. This thing is so comfortable I forget I have it on. It pairs and connects easier, boom bang, a whole 45 seconds (or less) and I was ready to go. I still have a little trouble putting it on the first try, but that's something I'll get used to. I also have not quite gotten used to all the buttons, their locations, and what they can do. I'm a techno gadget freak, so eventually I'll figure it out. Calls are SUPER clear, on both sides. On all 3 calls I was on during that hour, I asked each of them how it sounded. It was perfect, even with the road noise, a "louder than normal" exhaust, radio on, and a window cracked to vent my worst habit. All 3 of these people I spoke to with my previous headset, and I was always breaking up and had to switch to the phone. The noise cancellation was a HUGE deal to me. This thing solved that problem Once you put it on it does feel like it is going to all out. I even tried. I thrashed my head around enough I started to get dizzy (not a safe thing to do while driving...just sayin). Luckily no accidents occurred, nor did it fall out. It fits securely in your ear and won't go anywhere The charging case is a bit bulky, but what do you expect from a spare battery? That's all this thing is. I'd like to come up with some clever invention to mount it in my truck and use it as a "charging dock" for the headset itself, and make it easily removable if needed. We'll see about that... Although it's a bit more expensive that others, it's well worth it. You remember the old saying, "you get what you pay for?" You pay more, but the quality far exceeds it's competition Goodbye Jabra, helloooooooooooooo Plantronics

Edge vs. Voyager..I'll take the Edge, Please!
This is the 3rd Plantronics headset I have had over the last 4 years. They seem to keep getting better over the years so I have just stuck with this brand. This model is light and fits nicely in my ear. I wear it almost 9 hours a day and I forget it's there. The auto answer or Ignore call feature is a plus also. I can easily answer the call by saying "Answer" and I don't have to fidget with my phone. The fact that it comes with a small battery pack is nice too. I haven't really used it but its a nice addition that I haven't seen on any other headset..If you have a power outage or you are out on the go and you need to charge your headset, you have it. Its small and light as well so it is easy to pack around. My only complaint with this is the Wind or Noise cancelling...It doesn't seem to work as well as the Voyager did. I have installed the the newest firmware for the headset as well. It's all up to date but I still have had a few people tell me the wind was really bad and they couldn't hear me..and that was on a breezy day...not windy by any means. Also in my truck with the windows down..same issue. Very windy and people cant hear me. All in all I give it a 4 stars only because of the noise cancelling issue. I will continue to use Plantronics headsets as they seem to keep improving over the years. The price is decent for what you get with the headset and the overall functionality is great. I do hope this review helps someone out there and as always Be Safe & Happy Shopping!!

Excellent design - but do not upgrade firmware
I changed my review from 5 stars to 1. This is my 4th voyager replacement. The headset eventually will not connect or gets stuck in "MEDIA audio." My Jaybird Bluebuds X works fine so the Voyager is the problem - its too new and buggy. This is the best bluetooth headset I have used to date. I had the Blueant Q2 which only lasted a year after the power switch broke from normal use. It is expensive but worth every penny. The charging case is ingenious as I don't have to keep charging the device every night. Instead I charge the case every few days. The charging case also protects the device when not in use. The Edge headset connects to my Samsung phones and my Apple MacBook Pro instantly, like in 1-2 seconds flat. The audio quality is superb both from the speaker and mic. The build quality is excellent and water resistant. I can connect to any bluetooth device instantly (Maximum 2 devices) without having to reset the device when the pair list is full such as with the blueant. The firmware is upgradeable and I upgraded it with the latest release using a USB cable connected to the PC using the Plantronics MyHeadsetUpdater software. What amazes me is the battery life - I get over 6 hrs! I use it to listen to streaming and downloaded podcasts/audio while exercising. The range is also fantastic, at over 40ft away and through one wall only then did the headset's audio started to stutter. The only con with the device i would say is the eargel. It hurts the inside of your ears after prolonged use. The headset stays very stable in the ear and does not drop downwards with time. I don't use the earloop as I wear glasses. The 3 switches on the device are easy to use and are placed ergonomically. I would have liked the play/pause button to work with just one short press instead of a long press. Plantronics supplies a 12V 1Amp USB car charger with the Edge. I would have preferred an AC adapter. I'm impressed, Plantronics have sure put a lot of thought into this device. It feels very solid, durable and works well. UPDATE 2.Jan.2015: Do not upgrade the firmware to v24 or V28. The headset gets stuck into media audio only and you can't get phone audio back. This device has no hardware reset procedure so you will have to ship your device back. This is my fourth headset that this has happened to.

Bose Bluetooth Series 2 vs. Sennheiser Presence UC ML vs. Plantronics Voyager Edge vs. Plantronics Voyager Legend UC
Bose Bluetooth Series 2 vs. Sennheiser Presence UC ML vs. Plantronics Voyager Edge vs. Plantronics Voyager Legend UC I began this review after Bose decided to cease production on their Series 2 Bluetooth. Previous to this review I had been super pleased with the Bose, only complaints were the short battery life (started around 4 hours, and degraded to about 2 hours after a year) and the construction of the item began to falter after about 2 years. Highlights: Plantronics Legend- Comes with a ton of accessories. Comes with a charging case that doubles as a recharger (too big for your pocket though). Tells the battery life with each use. Versatile fit. Boom microphone should also help voice clarity. Charging stands for desk. Auto answers calls, voice recognition. Solidly Built. Only over the ear Bluetooth I tested. Was very clear, good volume. Plantronics Edge- Well priced for the quality. Also has a charging case that doubles as a backup if you run out of juice. This case uses micro USB. Lightweight. The least noticeable on your ear of the four. Bose- Very small. Very high sound quality. The on/off button is a little flimsy and I have replaces one unit after about 1-2 years. Sennheiser- The boom mike slides in and out to turn on and off. For people that like to turn their devices on and off, this is super easy to use and intuitive. Nice heavy-duty metal feel. Great packaging. Cost: 1. Plantronics Edge- $50-$60 2. Plantronics Legend- $135 3. Sennheiser UC- $150 4. Bose- Sold out- $200+ in aftermarket Case: 1.) Both Plantronics cases also hold a charge, which is nice in a bind (be aware that the Edge case will not accommodate the Edge unit if it has the earpiece bar assembled. 2.) Sennheiser- Nice, sturdy, high quality, but purposeless case. 3.) Bose- I didn’t notice or recall a case. Ease of use: 1. Bose- Flip switch, put in ear. 2. Legend- Flip switch, place over ear, slight adjustment 3. Sennheiser- Put over ear, adjust the plastic holder- pull out mike. 4. Edge- Place in ear, might have to fidget with the plastic earpiece, as it doesn’t go on easy. [This feature is important to me, as I often use my earpiece when driving and I don’t like to wear it when not in use, so the ability to pick it up, turn it on, and use it right away is important to me] Comfort: 1. Edge- I find this one to be nice and lightweight, fits securely, and once it’s on, you don’t notice it. However **** this one did not stay in my ear without using the plastic around the ear attachment. Without that optional attachment, the Edge would not stay in my ear. 2. Bose- Fairly lightweight, and if it fits your ear is nice, if it doesn’t fit your ear, you will hate this device. 3. Legend is very comfortable, but is also considerably bigger and heavier than the other devices. If you wear it all the time, would get annoying. This is however the most versatile fit of all of them. 4.) The Sennheiser is a very snug and tight fit, but that can hurt it too, as it sometimes will pinch your face, and getting an optimal fit is not easy. The rubber coatings are still pretty rough. Battery Life: - This is a tough category, as the Plantronic devices both come with carrying cases that also function as recharging stations, so in essence you can get twice as much life out of a Plantronics. If you ignore this: 1.) Sennheiser- Lasts up to 10 hours, and this seemed accurate. 2.) Plantronics- both seemed to get around 6 hours. 3.) Bose- this one gets about 4 hours, and then a year later less than two. * Special note, all three devices other than the Bose announce the battery life. The Plantronics devices both do it every time the unit is used. The Sennheiser requires a small button push. Bose has no feature. Sound Quality: This is a tough category as always. I use mine in the car (road noise) and have a larger head (harder for mike to pick up sounds around my cheeks). Your experience may differ depending on your signal, location, face shape, and usage. 1. Bose: By far the most clear. Loud volume. People could hear me. I could hear them. Most people have never known I was on a Bluetooth. 2 (tie). Sennheiser- This one was very loud, no sound distortion 2.(tie). Plantronics Legend- This one also sounds very good, has a nice high volume, and sounds natural. I didn’t get to test this one in as many varying conditions, so gave the nod to the Sennheiser. 4. Edge- I didn’t like the sound on this one. People could hear my clearly, but they sounded distant and like they were on a speakerphone or in an echo chamber. Volume was also lower than the other devices. Disappointments: Bose- The on/off button will wear out over time (1-2 years with heavy use). The battery will also lose effectiveness during this time. Bose battery life at peak is half of the others (3-4 hours). Can be a tough fit for some ears. Edge- HORRIBLE design if you require using the small plastic ear bar. If you have this on the device, it will not fit in the charging station. You will have to take it off every time you want to charge it in the holster. Legend- You cannot charge the unit directly without using a proprietary charging connection (though the case takes micro-usb). It is magnetics, so super easy to use, but if you travel, you need to bring the adapter or the special cord or the case. For business travelers, having to worry about yet another charging method might be an annoyance. Sennheiser- Pairing can be a little tricky at first. Putting the unit on and off your ear will take some practice. Doesn’t feel as secure on the ear as the others. Final Conclusions: This one is super hard, as I was hoping that 4 years later the Bose device would have been surpassed. I still think the Bose unit is the best Bluetooth, but the fact that it only holds a charge for 3-4 hours really makes it inferior to the other devices out there right now. Even though the sound quality is still top notch. I still don’t know what unit I am going to keep….. Bose- Bought one of the last new ones before they discontinued it, but I hate the short battery life. Sennheiser- Build quality is great, battery life and sound are great, but the fit is a little uncomfortable. Edge- Very comfortable, sounds good, but the fact that I can’t use the charging station with it makes it annoying. Legend- Great sound, great charging capabilities, but having the always have a special charger or the charging case on me seems annoying. I hate to say it, but this is my first review ever that will be inconclusive….any recommendations???

The Voyager Passes the Test
My previous bluetooth headset was the Jawbone Era so I can compare the two. One odd thing on delivery, the two day delivery indicated it would take 3 days to delivery. On the third day I received an Amazon message indicated the package was delivered to my house. However it did not show up until the next day, 4 days after ordering it. What I really did not like was indicating it was delivered when it was not. That is a problem since it hides the truth from Amazon. That is not part of the 5 star of this review. Shipping I would give 1 star. The Voyager is around 2.75" long while the Era is around 2" long. Although the Voyager is 3/4" longer it has a small narrow boom. So the longer size is not much of an issue. It does come with a charge/carry case but it is a little large to carry in your pocket but I like the idea of protecting it with a case. And it is easy to keep the Voyager charged, just pop it in the case and it charges. The Era needs to be charged after a couple work meetings but need to wait till I get to an AC outlet. Seems like I charged the Era often but always had enough talk time. I do like the extra talk time on the Voyager, I don't worry about having enough time for the next conference call. The battery life is much longer on the Voyager but I never really had an issue with the Era. The ear piece in the Voyager is about the same as the one I use on the Era. The Era came with several different ear pieces. The Voyage ear piece is ok to me, no problem but I don't wear it all day long either. When I'm done with a call I remove it. The Voyager voice pickup is good, I tested it leaving a message for another phone line while talking in the Voyager. Then I walked up to a TV set playing at a normal level while talking. I could easily hear my voice all the way up to the TV but you can hear the TV sound in the background. Sort of like bits and pieces of TV sound. This is where I thought the Era did a better job. While using the Voyager talking with people while standing outside, I was told the conversation was clear and no noise from outside was picked up. I'm not sure how well it would do while driving in a car and dealing with loud trucks and horns beeping, etc. The Voyager instructions mention a procedure to recalibrate the microphone. I suppose background noise could be further reduced with some calibration. Will check more into that part. One feature I like on the Voyager is the mute button. The Era did not have that and I would always have to turn the phone on, enter the security code, then go to the phone page and press mute to turn it on/off. It was a pain. The Voyage has a mute button on the headset which makes it much easier. I use the mute a lot in conference calls but not much for personal use. There is no noticeable weight difference between the Voyager and the Era headsets. I know they are not identical in weight but both feel the same weight. The charge port on the Voyager is an easy fit while the Era was a typical micro USB which was a struggle to connect and disconnect. It seems like that part of the Era has the most wear. Overall I like the Voyager and think it is close enough to the sound quality of the Era. One thing I notice is that where you use the headset is important to the quality. If you are around a lot of noisy areas or if your calls require extreme quiet that would perhaps change which headset is better. I rarely talk in front of any loud external noise so I'm mostly interested in blocking the softer sounds around me. One comment I often was told with the Era is that people thought I was in a quiet room talking to them. In some cases I was just sitting in an open area with general noise of people. I have not had that comment from anyone using the Voyager but maybe I need to calibrate the pickup sensor.

Good bluetooth as it should be
My last bluetooth headset fell apart after 3 years. It was a Motorola Oasis and I'd had 2 before that one. I was a little apprehensive of switching to a new design. I have glasses and the Oasis fit was very good. I purchased this based on a review from the wirecutter. I don't need to regurgitate what they say. Fit The fit is good - once I found the correct earpiece size. It doesn't feel as secure as the Oasis did but that's because it's relying on a friction fit in the ear. It's pretty solid but I wouldn't trust it to stay in while doing jumping jacks. Overall I am using this with a Samsung S7. It reacts well to Google Now and you can set it to unlock your phone. You'll need to set it up as a trusted device for that action to occur. The best feature about this headset over the older Oasis is that it handles the bluetooth connection like it should - when you answer a call on the phone with the headset in another room but still connected, the phone takes precedence. This may be a software or part of the gestures of the headset. It is not a phone related thing because the Oasis constantly switched to itself causing mass confusion. When you place the headset in your ear, it takes over the call - just like it should. The battery isn't as long lasting as the Oasis but that's in part to being half the size. It would also be nice if when the low battery warning came up, it would tell you the approximate talk time left. I also don't need the charging cradle. The headset charges with a regular micro USB connection that most of the current android phones use - it is not a USB C. Perhaps Plantronics could ditch the cradle and drop the price? In conclusion, this headset is good and I'm happy with its performance. We will have to see about the longevity of it before I'd say that I'd buy another.

Best Headset I Ever Owned - Until It Stopped Working
The sound clarity on this headset is amazing. The fit and comfort are amazing. The battery life is amazing. The gesture support is amazing. And the mic was amazing - for about a month. About a week and a half ago, people started complaining that they can't hear me or that I'm very, very quiet. Some quick searching seems to indicate that this is a common issue with this headset - and apparently, the headset has no hard reset functionality, so when problems like this arise, the only recourse is to have the unit replaced under warranty. I went to the Plantronics web site this morning and requested a warranty replacement. I opened no support ticket and, in fact, never engaged support at all: no phone call, no email exchange, no live chat session, nothing. I had to upload proof of purchase (a screenshot of the Amazon order summary page sufficed) and type a short summary of the issue, but otherwise, the process was painless. Plantronics approved the replacement early this afternoon and I plan to send the headset back this evening. I'm not sure whether to be impressed with the ease of the replacement request or terrified because the implication is that this problem is so common that they've stopped asking questions... I'll update this review after I've had the replacement for a couple months - but for right now, based on my own experience with the product itself and on what I've read while researching my problem, I would be hard-pressed to recommend this headset. Update Oct 23, 2015: Some additional information regarding the replacement process; Plantronics cross-shipped the replacement without ever asking for any kind of payment or security information, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. The replacement was shipped 2-day. The replacement unit (so far) does not exhibit the mic issue that developed in the original - folks on the end of my phone calls can one again hear me without issue. I'll update again in a couple months to confirm whether the headset continues to work as expected.

Great Bluetooth Headset
My husband, a coach driver, has been unlucky with this product in the past, as he lost 2 by accident...the last one he forgot to use the plastic clip to secure to the ear. He also bought the previous 2 through a retail store, and product box was not sealed like this one from Amazon.ca. I believe the previous ones were used and returned, as my husband always had problems with the unit, either not connecting properly or disconnecting. calls. When we received this unit today, the box was sealed, and he connected it easily and it is working fine. Now I just have to make sure he uses the clear plastic tip all the time.

Cura molto i vari Dettagli SOSTANZIOSI dell'apparecchio... Credevo di no...

Blueetoth einschalten, Headset einschalten. Freiwilliges Koppeln? Fehlanzeige. Abschließend: Das Lade-Etui - macht schon was her. Alles in allem: Absolute Kaufempfehlung.
