Really nice aluminum lens cap — solid, premium feel and a perfect fit on the GR III. It’s a joy to use, adds a bit of weight in a good way, and protects the lens. Highly recommended.

I purchased this auto open/close cap for my Ricoh GR IV Monochrome. It fits securely (twist lock) after removing the ring around the lens. When the lens opens, it provides a gentle nudge to swing open the three leafs of the cap, which then snap closed when the lens retracts. While it is secure to the camera, it probably is not as dust proof as a tightly fitted cap - which of course has to be removed/replaced every time or risk damaging the lens extension motors. In this case, I opted for the convenience of the auto open/close and the fact it remains in place at all times! So, if you have a GR IV - this lens cap is definitely recommended!

I got this to protect my new GR IIIx when the camera is in my bag. This will hopefully keep some dust away when the camera is not being used. The only issue is you need to remember to take it off before turning on the camera... it's pretty snug and might not pop off causing a lens error.

Excellent build quality and materials; solid metal. It fits perfectly and looks like it came as part of the camera. It should have, but it doesn't, but at least JJC offers it at a reasonable price. A must-buy.

NOTE: this will NOT fit the lens of the Ricoh GR4. Otherwise, it is a quality product for the Ricoh GR3.

Since the Ricoh has a document problem with dust I wanted to get something that would seal the retractable lens from exterior debris. This thing locks into the mount after you remove the ring from the Ricoh with a solid fit. It opens and closes automatically so you don't have to worry about taking off the lens cap to get the shot. For all intensive purposes this is a lens cap and imo that should be something that protects that lens from scratches and limited impacts to the surface of the lens. But it's not sealed. Each petal has a bit of relief from the other that dust can enter. This also increased the depth of the camera losing some of the thinness which the ricoh is know for and making it a tad less pocketable. In my opinion you're better off getting the hard lens cap and remove it on your own since its more of a sealed unit. It also offers more protection and combine it with the JJC tape on UV filter. To minimize pressure against the thin camera lens shutter petals which can accidentally be pressed against which could lead to damage. If you want to utilize filters full time you're better off using the nisi filter or ricoh's 49mm filter adapter which both clip on and also offer a better seal then this product and overall protection.

Well made and fits great on my Ricoh GRIII. I like that it's made out of aluminum with a inner rubber friction ring to secure it. It gives it a premium feel.

It does not fit the camera. Requested a replacement and looks like they sent the same item back. The package was not sealed. Comparing to the images on the official website, my guess is that there is no inner soft lining, which is why it doesn't fit. Returning it for the 2nd time and I have requested a refund this time. I would rather deal with the dust and ruin my camera than deal with this again. So frustrating. I hope I at least get my refund back. Zero rating.

The lens cap a not meant for gr2 or gr3. If is loose fitting.

Protege muy bien la cámara, no se enrosca, es más como de succión, entonces está perfecto y además me gusta mucho que dice GR. He leído en varios lados que la RICOH sufre de polvo en el lente, pero desconozco si esto aumenta o disminuye el riesgo de que eso suceda, hasta el momento todo bien. De igual forma planeo comprar un adaptador para lentes de 49mm y ponerle un filtro UV o ND para que proteja el lente por defecto sin tener que dejarlo expuesto en ningún momento.
