Sheath Machete Sheath 12in. ON12B

Perfect fit for a machete I purchased earlier. They were made for each other. The quality is excellent.

Ontario Knife Co. Sheath perfect fit for Ontario Knife Co. “Blackie Collin’s” 12 inch machete/knife. The original bag (couldn’t call it a sheath) finally disintegrated after many years. This sheath should have been original equipment. Heavy padded nylon with rivets to prevent cut through. The belt loop is wide and heavy strapping material. I usually never carried it on my belt but may now. I liked it enough to buy another for my 18 inch Ontario machete.

There is very little available by way of sheaths for machetes' either short, or long ones. While I dont think I'd try to wear this one a belt, it will protect your blade, and other items if carried in, or strapped to, a pack.

Looks great, feels like quality construction. Thicker material than I thought it would be. There are no securing straps, but if you poke a couple holes through the loop with a hot awl (just heat it up with a lighter) and feed a cord through, it does the trick for a decent tie down. My Tramontina finally has a sheath.

It is what it is, just a nylon sheath. There is no liner but the sheath is fairly rigid like it's made with layered nylon with some type of stiffener or foam padding or something. This is about all you can find though for 12" machetes unless you want to spend more on a leather sheath. Wish someone would make the plastic Rothco type sheathes in 12".

I like that it fits 12 inch Tramontina machete. Dislike that it doesn't come with the belt loop. Update: This product does come with a belt loop. It's just folded down inside of the sheath. Just happen to find it out after removing the machete several times. I have changed this product from 4 stars to 5stars.

Does what it should and cheap. Just wish it had a retention strap, loop, or something to tie the machete in.
