Leaking & a Myriad of Poor Design Issues
I followed the directions exactly to avoid previous customer problems to no avail.1) It is nearly impossible to open the vac to empty the debris. You are supposed to "pinch" the general sides, but that does nothing.2) A minor complaint: Due to its shape, it rolls over whenever you set it down. (I don't use the stick long handle.)3) There is no "On & Off" switch. Shockingly, to turn ON the vacuum, one is supposed to partially unscrew the battery compartment hatch lid on the end of the handle which would then make the battery compartment conducive to leaking from that lid if one unscrews the lid a full 1/4 turn to the "On" marked on the handle. Just to test my theory, I did as instructed once, without batteries in it, while submersed in the spa. After carefully drying the outside, sure enough, water had seeped through the lid. After that I only turned the handle barely far enough to just get the vac to turn on (about 1/3 inch). But then later, I observed the battery compartment had additional leaks internally, not just from the battery compartment lid, indicating the whole vacuum is probably leaking everywhere including through the motor.4) You are instructed to completely open all the parts up after each use to let it dry out. I even bothered to dry it with a towel, but rust appeared in the battery compartment immediately anyway.5) The suction seriously diminished while vacuuming probably due to the batteries dying. A set of batteries was destroyed with each use due to leaking.I am convinced, with leaking certainly through the motor too, the vacuum would have only worked a couple more times, but I didn't want to waste any more money on batteries.Remember, if you are going to take the gamble of being upset & buy this anyway, they will not pay for your shipping either direction when it is defective, and be careful to return it within the warranty period to the correct address.

Spa vacuum with minor deficits
Suction power is adequate but not impressive. Quite difficult to squeeze and remove cover in order to clean filter.

Unit is not high quality. Handle is too light ...
Unit is not high quality. Handle is too light weight. Does not hold onto the vac unit tightly enough. The method used for turning on the power is poorly designed. Requires an extreme amount of force. My wife has to use a pair of pliers to tighten enough to turn it on. Should have been designed with a larger "T" type handle or a waterproof push button switch. Would not purchase again.

Easy to use & it works!
I bought this to replace my third grit gitter vac which cost $20 and lasts about a year before it becomes unusable. While searching for a fourth grit gitter I found the SpaVac and decided to give it try. I love it, sure beats squeezing the grit gitter bottle a million times to pick up half the dirt. The SpaVac is no super vac, but does a great job when used slowly. As with any vac you stir up the dirt as you move the vac around. Let the remaining dirt settle and a second pass will get the remainder. It appears to be well built and has a very fine filter to trap the real small stuff. It looks like it will last for a quite a while, but as long as it makes it through the season it will be well worth the money.UPDATE: it stopped working

Waste of money
I bought this vacuum for my inflatable hot tub. I live in Arizona and we get a lot of dust. It worked great the first time I used it. By the second use, it barely suctioned out anything. By the third use, it was dead. I thought Mayne the batteries had died, so I spent $8 on new C batteries and it worked for about 30 seconds and then completely died. It is a complete waste of money.

Would NOT buy again.
First of all....there is very weak suction. The filter basket has absolutely no instructions on which way it goes. I am very handy and love fixing things...and it took 1.5 days for me to realize the filter was in wrong. I only needed a small vacuum, however I wish I had not bought this. Waste of money. I am so disappointed in how cheap it is. It is not a "pool blaster" at all. It is cheap with no power at all. I do not recommend.

Works as expected
I use this often in my 18 ft above ground pool. When you just have a little debris or the kids “whirlpool” it and you have that pile in the center, this thing is your friend. Way easier than dragging out the hose and hooking up the other one. You have to go SLOW and not kick the stuff up beforehand. So it’s not for the big jobs but the smaller day to day junk.
