Exactly what we needed! A safe and humane way to keep the kitties from scratching up a newly planted tree. Highly recommend these. They really work!

I bought these hoping they would keep our cats away from the Christmas tree since we were dealing with spraying around that area. Unfortunately, they didn’t completely solve that problem. The tree area is fairly large, and I think it would probably require several packs to cover enough space for them to be truly effective in that kind of situation. Where these did work well was in our plant pots. I placed a few pieces in the soil to prevent our cats from digging or using the pots as a bathroom, and they’ve been great for that. The spikes aren’t sharp, but they create enough of an uncomfortable surface that the cats avoid stepping there. The mats themselves are lightweight but sturdy. They’re easy to trim and position where needed, and they’ve held up well so far without bending or breaking even after being moved around a few times. In terms of value, the pack gives you a decent number of pieces, but if you’re trying to block off a larger area (like around furniture or a Christmas tree), you may need multiple packs. For smaller targeted spots like plant pots or specific problem areas, they work well and feel worth the price. Overall, they worked best for protecting plants in our home, but coverage size is something to keep in mind depending on how you plan to use them.

This has actually worked to make this area just not a desirable place to go. Initially I just wanted the TV area covered, but I had a bit extra and was able to cover my console table and a single square with the stakes provided zip tied fit perfectly snug on my PS5. With a little scratch board and a cat tree nearby, she just doesn't have any interest in climbing up there anymore. With a single extra square left I have it zip tied infront of the smaller TV in my bedroom and it has similarly kept her from hanging out in front of the TV. Other than it being mildly annoying when she'd chill up there, I caught her a few times pawing at the screen. I love her... but the idea of her scratching the TV was enough to get me to desperately try anything to prevent it. Aluminum foil hardly worked. Double sided sticky tape was just annoying and required too much upkeep. This is sorta set and forget. I have an electric air duster I hit it with occasionally and that's enough. Needless to say, I'm extremely relieved to have found a solution to keep her away, and anybody suggesting this could hurt your cat is being silly. They're just tiny plastic spikes, and in my case she just looked at them and was like "eh that spot sucks" and went elsewhere. I'm a new cat owner, and I've learned a lot of cat ownership is redirection. This is an excellent tool for that.

Hello Fellow Amazon.com Shoppers, This is the best money I've spend that delivered a positive turn around in about 2 seconds or less. It Works ! I have a home office and I'm a collector of very fancy pens. I have pens that have beautiful feathers/plums, exotic stones and rhinestones, and pens that have cute farm animals on them. I faithfully use them numerous times throughout the day joyfully. I have a new young kitten/cat that I rescued... Well, it's playing-devouring-destroying my beautiful pens to where I'm so, so sad. I knew I had to do something to prevent the kitten from continuing to destroy my pens...or else I 'will' put that kitten outside to fent for itself! In the nick of time I saw the Cat Deterrent Mat. It Works, It Works, It Works ! It took ONE TIME for the cat to jump on my office desk to play with the pens, but as it jumped onto the plastic safe prongs mats on my desk, it immediately jumped off my desk knowing instantly 'it did not like the prongs'. I've been enjoying my pens being safe. Thank you inventor-seller-and Amazon.com for making me happy again.

These are such a rip off. First of all, they are half the size of almost every other scat mat available on Amazon, and basically a dollar less. If I didn't need them right away I would have returned them.

I've used similar mats in the past. I like this set better since the mats are smaller. They absolutely do help in deterring cats and other critters from digging into freshly seeded soil or the soil in pots. The reason I didn't give the set 5 stars is because there is not an instruction paper or picture on how to use the accessories included in the box. I know what the u-shaped staples are for, but no idea what the rest of the items are. I had to look at the item again on Amazon and saw what the buttons are for, but still at a loss for the straight black pieces. Other than that, I am pleased with my purchase.

The mats are great and do the job of keeping my dogs off a certain patch of grass that I'm trying to grow back. The metal pins that came with it were pathetic and bent as soon as I tried to insert them into the soil - I ended up using a couple of tent pins. But for that I'd have given 5 stars.

Great utiltiy product but overpriced for plastic material which is fragile and is of inferior quality

Buena calidad, fácil de adaptar a la medida necesaria. Todavía no sé si será efectivo pero yo creo que sí pues al tacto es desagradable, sin lastimar

Lo que no me agradó es que en la primera descripción del artículo dice que son 24 láminas y son 12 solamente. Revisé toda la página y hasta abajo sí dice que son 12 pzs. Por desgracia yo me fuí con la idea de la primera descripción y esto es confuso xq yo contaba ya con las 24 pzs
