DEWALT XTREME 12V MAX* Impact Driver, Cordless, 1/4-Inch, Tool Only (DCF801B)

I bought this dewalt xtreme 12v max impact driver 6 months ago, and am very pleased with it. Its lite and gets into small spaces but still has plenty of power when the going get tuff. I bought the bare tool as I have the 12v batteries and charger from my last dewalt drill which finally wore out. The batteries are 15 years old and still hold a good charge. They were made in Japan back then. The 3 l.e.d. lights on this driver are are very bright and aimed perfectly for working in dark spaces. If this one lasts as long as my old one I'll be happy. I find this impact driver to be a good value for your money. Pics are for size comparison

Small compact drill although when I purchased i didn't realize immediately that it was a 12vlt but thats alright I managed to find some batteries that were compatible

Had this model before! I love this drill. In tough. The light while drilling is perfect. Can handle 6 ft. Drops. With battery it’s not very heavy. Well worth what I paid for it.

Love the 12v dewalt impact drill for lightweight work - screws and light drilling. I have its bigger brother for heavier applications.

Bought this impact when the 12 volt extreme line was first released. Never really used it and sold it and bought the 20volt XR impact because I thought I needed all that power. Come to find there is definitely a place for this brushless 12volt, after purchasing for the second time. It's perfect for a technician like myself, that doesn't always need all the power of the big brother. I've been using it as my daily driver and have been really pleased with it's performance. Would definitely recommend it for HVAC, electrician's, and appliance repair like myself. Bought this as a bare tool. Already had a couple 5ah 12 volt batteries (which I recommend getting). Came with belt clip and paper work. Brand new condition like advertised. The only reason I didn't rate it as 5 stars is because I felt it is slightly overpriced.

For around the house simple tasks my 20V tools are fine but I wanted to see what this 12V impact driver could do. It is smaller and lighter for sure, but the real bonus is the speed setting. It has a very light touch on the low setting and seems like plenty of power on the high setting. This will be a perfect tool for driving small wood screws and plenty strong enough for deck screws. I haven't tried it yet but with the proper impact bits I plan on using it in the garage for removing parts off the motorcycle for maintenance.

I am in the electrical trade and use this impact driver for connecting devices.This is a great tool for what I use it for - with Dewalt Quality!ProsIt has a lower torque than the 20V version so it doesn't strip the connection terminal but still has speed3 settings! The lower setting starts on driver mode and then actually pauses before going to impact. This is great for preventing a screw from being striped.ConsIt is heaver than the standard 12V version but not too heavy.

A vast improvement on previous models when you really don't need the relentless power of the 18v version
