This is the OEM part for Toyotas and great quality. Works well and operates as expected.

OEM Toyota
Exact same as TOYOTA OEM. Same factory AISN manufacturer markings. The only difference is the box + $15 more at Toyota dealer.

As Good as the Original
This thermostat functions just as well as the original from Toyota. Since Aisin is an OEM supplier, this may be the exact same part. It fits perfectly in the 1MZ-FE engine in my 1999 Camry. Doesn't come with the gasket, but the gasket is cheap and readily available. Just make sure the "jiggle" valve is on top when your install it.

Great price
This is exactly what I needed for way less than the local shop wanted for it.

Better than Toyota thermostat
Long story short. My Tacoma from new would pretty much run at 184-186. At a point in its life I did a regular maintenance job to the cooling system and the thermostat was one of the many new parts bought from a Toyota stealership. From that point on, my coolant temp would fluctuate from 188-193 and climb all the way up to 210 in in high heat hwy driving. Since then I’ve been through 2 more Toyota thermostats, fan clutch and even a radiator. No change.Did some reading/research and someone in a forum mentioned the gen 1 tacomas came from the factory with Aisin thermostats. I decided to test this theory. As you can see in the photo attached to this review, there’s definitely a physical difference. After install, the truck is back to normal operating temp.:).I haven’t tested it hard yet, but I’m pretty confident this was the issue.FYI all temps were read with Scan gauge plug in to my obd2 port.I hope this info helps many other save lots of time, money and frustration.Garrett ;)

Left in the cold?
Who would have thought a 5-year-old Toyota would have a lazy thermostat. Whereas most auto parts stores have thermostats for this vehicle, they are all a different style. This is a factory-looking theromstat that was an exact fit. Easy to install? Guess if you have the mechanical aptitude to drain the coolant, remove two screws and pop the thermostat housing off, pry the old thermostat out, clean all of it off and throw the new one in with the jiggle valve in the correct orientation, put the housing back on with snugged bolts, fill the system and run the engine to burp it of air. Half-hour of work - on my car. Some others I've done are where you want to take the engineer out back and... Now the car heats up much more quickly as seen in the gauge and heat coming out of the vents.
