Amazing deck - The Star Tarot by Cathy McClelland
I have over 300 decks and this is one of my top favorites ever!!!These cards are so layered so you can see different messages for the same card at different times more easily than the typical tarot deck out there.ENJOY : D

I love this deck, this is the 2nd one I have bought.
This is a beautiful deck, perfect for introspection and deep diving. I don't suggest this deck for a beginner. However it's simple anuff for a intermediate reader. As a advanced reader myself, I love the imagery. How every color and imagery is explained and used in the deck. This is not a deck to use without having the book. This one came with beautiful foiled cards. And while I'm not a fan, for everyday use, As I have another one, not foiled, I couldn't resist. Box is just as beautiful as the cards. Love the book with imagery, really needed with this set. This deck really talks for it's self, beautifully done. I loved it so much I had to have another one just for myself. And I really just don't do that. I see myself using it for many years to come.

Beautiful Deck!
I finally had to replace the deck I had as a child. I love these vivid colors with images similar to the RW traditional tarot but with more filled out illustrations. The art is gorgeous! I bought a couple different styles of decks to try them out, but this deck is now my favorite, without doubt. The book is okay, but I get a bit annoyed at the attempt to make every message positive. The cards also show possible loses, griefs, fears, etc. Positivity in life is created by wrestling with hardships head on and growing through them, and contrast with the undesirable creates more excitement and energy. I did like the minor arcana grouped by the number or face rather than by the suite.Good quality cards. I am very much hoping they come out with a pocket-sized version of this deck, however. I find the smaller size often easier to carry and use. I would love to have both the large/standard size that is currently available, and a smaller version of this deck.

One of the best Tarot decks ever!
I am always delightfully surprised when every time the cards are pull are related to the situation. Kathy definitely imbued these with a deep understanding of the universe and the complexities of the soul. Highly recommended!

Not only are the cards beautiful and easy to shuffle but the book is outstanding.Compared to many of cards with a tiny book, this one is a large, informative, illustrated wonderfully made book. very good purchase.

Beautiful artwork...though not really for beginners!
The artwork drew me to this deck & didn't disappoint. Truly the most "beautiful" deck I have. Most of the images remain true to the spirit of traditional decks though some of the art veers into a flowery vision of the symbols they intend to represent, apparently to "soften the blow".The book gives a helpful 2 page commentary on each of the cards & is illustrated in full color. I appreciate the fact the author describes the symbols found on each card and what they represent in her deck. Much of the commentary pays tribute to traditional decks such as RWS & Thoth, however, there is a repeated tendency by the author to "soften" the impact of cards that carry a difficult message. Life doesn't always turn out "okay" and not everything that happens can be transcended with a New Age mantra. There are wars, pandemics, oppressive governments, disease, grief, and human evil. I want a deck that stays true to human experience & doesn't try to sugar coat these realities. I took off a star because I find the author's commentary shies away from this side of life experiences. That said, I still love this deck and will use it for meditation & the calming effect of the art. And I appreciate the author discussing the significance of numbers as well as astrological & other mythological symbols found in the Tarot. I also like that she groups the minor arcana according to number. However, I strongly recommend consulting other texts for deeper insight into the individual cards & their symbols. Rachel Pollack (particularly her interpretations of the Haindl deck), Pam Richards (her book "Understanding Tarot), and Isabel Radow Kliegman (her book Tarot and the Tree of Life) feel truer to real life, imo.One more important criticism of the deck, though I didn't deduct a star because the artwork is just so stunning, is the cards themselves. The matte finish & gold edging resulted in cards that stubbornly stick together and don't lend themselves to being shuffled. The author should consider a different texture & card stock for the future!I do recommend this deck as part of your collection. In spite of its few shortcomings, there is much to appreciate in the artwork & the author's knowledge of symbols & numerology. I also appreciate her inclusion of multiple cultures in the imagery of the cards. But for beginners I would strongly recommend becoming familiar with the Rider Waite Smith tarot before branching out to other decks.

Perfect deck
This is a stunning tarot deck! To be honest, I had the original version but never connected to it so I passed it on. This second edition has cards of a more manageable size. They're borderless, which is my preference and makes the images stand out. I am appreciating their beauty in a brand new way. With the possible exception of the Fool card, I love every card in this deck. That's important for me because if I can't connect with certain images the deck is a no-go for me. The guidebook that comes with this deck is large, illustrated, and full of detail. You can use this deck however best fits your reading style, whether you use an intuitive approach or like to dive into the details. I could see this being my "desert island" deck because I know I'll never tire of the rich, deep images. SO beautiful and colorful. I'm glad I gave the Star Tarot a second chance-- it was calling to me!
