It works.
By using this strap I did increase my CPAP score an average of 9 points over a 30 day period. It’s comfortable, and yes, it slides. I have woken with it displaced, but as it really is just a strap on the head how could it not? This works very well with a mask that has more than one strap, and pretty well with one strap.

Fast and accurate
Fast and accurate. As far as I am concerned the ResMed chin strap is the best. I have had others and none of them have worked as well.

Don’t waste your money on this product
The strap doesn’t stay in place on your head and slips off during the night while you sleep. Therefore, the product is useless. If you are looking to buy a chin strap, stay away from this one and look at other chin straps that have the double straps that fit on your head and prevent slipping off your head.

Effective, Comfortable, Slight Fit Issue
The ResMed CPAP Chin Strap works well for keeping my mouth closed while using a nasal mask, which helped prevent dry mouth and reduced premature wake-ups. The strap feels comfortable and soft against the skin, and the material seems durable enough for regular nightly use. The only drawback is that it didn’t stay perfectly in place on my head. I suspect this is more about my head shape than the product itself, as traditional headbands also have a similar issue with me. Despite this, it still performed its main function effectively, allowing me to breathe properly through my CPAP without discomfort. Overall, a solid accessory for anyone needing help with mouth closure during CPAP therapy.

Functional but Uncomfortable Fabric
Stays in place, adjustable, and keeps my mouth shut while using a full face CPAP. Last night I slept for 8 hours for the first time in years, and this was after a refreshing 3 hour nap in the afternoon, during which I used the chin strap for the first time. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, the fabric itches my chin. However, turning it inside out so the seams did not touch my chin and tucking an ultra soft piece of Kleenex between my face and the chin piece helped. Night 2: Wow, what a difference 24 hours make. I am now lowering this review to 3 stars. I did not notice it until I tried to wear this a second night, but the mask seems to have given my chin a small, paper cut type of injury during the first night, making the mask sting too much to put on again, even with tissue to pad it. Rats, now I have to find a different solution. Wear a bandaid each night? Line the chin piece with felt and/or flannel? My son recommends developing a "chin callous", but ... Ok, I have to admit that I don't know how to do that. It's too bad, because this chin strap does work very well otherwise. R and D, can you please go back to the drawing board on this otherwise good product?

Packaging from same brand I get from my insurance
Arrived in packaging with the same name as the supplies I get from my insurance! Always an extra star for that IMHO, and will always earn me as a repeat customer Long strap adjusts to many head sizes, even my near-child-sized head. My doctor never brought this product up to me, so I was just curious to try it, and the pricing was reasonable. I had been getting more ingrown facial hairs and pseudofolliculitis around the area that the full face CPAP mask and straps touches my face, plus I was getting marks, so I had wanted to see if this would help. (Ultimately, what was most important was buying new headgear more frequently than insurance approves because the straps wear out and then I’d crank the straps down too tight to keep the mask on.) I don’t really use this anymore since I don’t always feel like adding an extra step to my night routine but I’m glad I did buy it. It does stay on and it does help with the issue that I did have. My mouth was also opening and leading to major air leaks and ineffective therapy delivery. Now that I’ve been on CPAP for about 18 months, I’ve gotten the learning curve down a bit more and learned how to adjust the equipment better and what’s important for a good seal. I still keep it in my medication bag in case I want to use it. It’s worth a try!

ResMed chin restraint works great for me!
Works as described. Can't go wrong with a ResMed product. Much cooler to sleep on than my old chin restraint, which had tons of cloth.

Could be better designed for support and stability on head and chin
Not a huge fan of this chinstrap. Bought it because it's made by the same manufacturer of my CPAP. The chin strap hurts my jaw from time to time and slides up and down the top of my head making it useless some nights.

Soft and comfortable. Yes, can slip a little but it's there to help retrain your muscles in your jaw to stay closed while sleeping. Enables those of us who were prescribed a full face mask to use a nasal mask instead.

Je pensais que Resmed serait une bonne marque. Mais ce truc est vraiment de mauvaise qualité. Ne tient pas en place, glisse vers l’avant ou l’arrière pendant la nuit. Vraiment un mauvais achat.

My chin area broke out and was very itchy after wearing this for a couple nights. I tried washing it, but it’s awkward. I still wake up with a dry mouth every morning, so I think it might stop me from taking air in my mouth during the night, but I think it allows me to breathe out through my mouth. That’s my best guess about what’s happening, anyway. If it was slightly better designed, I think that would make a big difference.

I use an Airfit P30i Nasal Pillows mask and when I recently replaced my machine with an AirCurve 10 I started using the myAir app at which time I found that I was getting very low mask seal scores. Using this strap improved the mask seal scores significantly; no more red sad faces on the AirCurve display in the mornings. With the single strap design it does tend to shift position and loosen up, on my head at least, but the headgear straps help hold it in place. There can't be more than a dollar's worth of material in this thing, so that's why I feel you're paying for the ResMed name. Now that I've seen the difference that a chin strap can make, I'll try some of the more inexpensive ones in the future to see if there is a difference
