Game changer!
My very first set of quality paints! I can’t believe I waited so long to splurge on them! I was previously using the same watered down acrylics I’ve had for years (generic store brand) but these are simply amazing!!! The coverage is spectacular! One coat is adequate. Drying time is slightly longer than generic paints, but well worth the wait! Colors are rich and vibrant! Paints flow smoothly and mix together well. I use these for all sorts of miniatures. They’re very easy to use on many textures. Paper, plastic, wire, wood… and I didn’t even use a primer. Very nice! Worth the price!!!

Easy to use, good quality paints
I'd heard good things about this particular set, and I decided to get this for my start into miniature painting. The paints themselves have pretty good coverage, if not on the first coat, then definitely on the second or third, depending how dark your undercoat is and how much you thin the paints. The metallics (silver and gold) have been working pretty well, though I notice they do separate if you leave some out on your wet pallet overnight. Mixes back up fairly well afterward in spite of that. The set comes with 16 colors, and I think what's included is all I really need. If I need something that's not quite in the box, it's very easy to mix these up on the pallet to get exactly what I want. Some of the recipes I've used include: -Red + brown = oxblood -Black + white = gray (I've seen people complain about the lack of gray, but it's so simple to mix your own) -Silver + black + maybe a bit of white = gunmetal -Silver + gray = steel -Brown + buff (a sort of khaki color) = a lovely beige -Red + a bit of orange = a lighter, more medieval sort of red -Pine green + yellow ochre = a summer grass color (drybrush it with yellow ochre afterward to enhance the effect) Just fiddle around with the proportions until it looks right, then paint away!

A Great Starter Set
This set has been my go to set for painting over the past two months. If you're looking for a solid core set of colors, then this one is a strong option. You get your basic primary and secondary colors, black and white, flesh, and a few metallic colors. Using the paint straight out of the bottle with a brush gives you excellent coverage. It leaves no brush strokes and levels out smoothly and evenly on most surfaces I've painted. Thinning it with water for washing is straightforward. I've found that a 4:1 ratio of water to paint is a good starting point.Using a good acrylic thinner for airbrushing is easy enough. Depending on which brand of thinner you prefer, I would try a 1:1 or 2:1 thinner to paint mix. Given how thick the paint is, just remember a little goes a long way with these colors. Given the slightly higher price point of these paints, it's also nice to know that they are fairly forgiving if you mess up. Just get some rubbing alcohol and you can wipe most of the paint off with a paper towel or a rag. Side note: my set was purchased from Langton Distribution which, according to the return address, is located in the UK. The listed 3-5 week delivery time turned out to be an overestimation. I received my set about 2 weeks after the shipping confirmation email in the Chicago area.

Decent value for quality, but lots of bubbles
This is a solid starter set for painting miniatures or models. Having the paints come in dropper bottles is good, and the paint is of a higher quality than more common store brands like Apple Cart or DecoArt in terms of sheerness, coverage, and texture. One coat is usually good enough, and it is not necessary to add any water. However, every single time I try to squeeze out a drop of paint from the bottles, a huge air bubble comes out instead, forcing me to work at it a bit to get any liquid out. Not sure if this is a defect in my specific set or a flaw in the bottles in general.

Great paint, good colors!
Bought this set to paint my first minis, love it. Has enough colors to paint anything typical. So far I've used it for a troll, Star Wars characters, and Marvel characters. Good consistency and easy to work with. Definitely for a beginner set, it's been great.

Top of the Line Paints from the GOAT Model Paint Company
If you are looking at this because you have never had a box of paint from Vallejo, I can say without a doubt that in terms of quality their Model Color paint line is above and beyond the best paint money can buy for painting miniatures and scale models while maintaining a large selection of colors at a reasonable price. Initially, for around 25-30 dollars I was very skeptical about these assorted paint sets but breaking the math down at the current listed price of $26.17 for 16 paints it comes out to ~$1.63 per paint, which is at least a dollar better than what any game store I've been to will sell these to you for on an individual basis, with retail outlets like Hobby Lobby charging as much as $5 a dropper bottle of the same size. Outside of pricing, what you get for your money is some of the best color, coverage, and smoothness of any paint, though like every acrylic product, do not think you can use this straight out the bottle, thin your paints with water, or, PREFERABLY something like Vallejo Glaze Medium for longer usability on the palette and better, smoother texture from the brush. I got this box because it comes with a nice medium tone, Flat Red color as well as the coveted Yellow Ochre which pretty much has the best opacity and deepest yellow out of any yellow paint I've ever tried, along with other great paints like basic blues, greens, and everything else you need to paint just about anything you can think of. I use these for both brushing and airbrushing just fine and again, so long as you thin them respectively for either medium they're perfect. If you've never tried Vallejo, get this box. If you have Vallejo and are looking for more colors, get this box.

Got the New Formula as Shown!
I was initially wary about my order because other people have gotten the older paints instead of the new ones as advertised while Vallejo is transitioning from its rebrand, but luckily I got the new formula of the paints with the new packaging (instead of the green one like in other reviews). They're all well mixed and sealed, and work perfectly! Worth the money.
