Waldorf Alphabet Book

This is a gorgeous alphabet book with lots of cues for discussion and activities. I would like to point out that several of the previous reviewers were wrong in their assessments. The letter “I” is not for Indian but for Iroquois and Inuit. There’s a list of vocabulary words in the back pages of the book.

I love this book! It's beautifull book and the method of learning the alphabet is atractive for children. The book have a lot of drawings, one per each letter. All drawings have many different figures and, the first letter of each thing is the same letter represented in drawing. This alphabet and its drawings are according language but, the idea is totally replicable to other lenguages.

The pictures are soft and lovely, a true waldorf book. Each page has a main picture in the shape of that page's letter, plus other smaller pictures all over that also begin with that letter. It's beautiful! I love the colors. I'm looking forward to sitting down with my little one and looking at, finger tracing, and just enjoying being with this book.

my preschool children (3 and 4) have been very interested in the alphabet, self-initiated. they had started writing a few letters and were asking for more. i ordered this book for some ideas on presenting the letters and how they looked. i wanted to keep our "lessons" very informal for the time being, and still initiated by them. i looked at the book and liked it just fine and it did give me some ideas. however, they looked at the book too - and LOVE IT! not even any words but they ask for it for bedtime story! we'll be using this one for a while.

I love this book but have to suggest you get new not used. I got a used book "in excellent condition" and it came with a lot of marks all over the front of the book and it had a strong smell. That's not an accurate description of what I got, and had I known beforehand, I would have splurged a couple more dollars and bought the new one because I plan to keep this book a long time. As for the contents of the book, we enjoy the pictures for the images they present as well as the colors. It's basically an "I Spy" book designed in Waldorf theme for the alphabet. I plan to use this for homeschool with my Kindergartener.

Great book to learn the ABC and sounds. Great to increase child’s visual perception and imagination while learning the alphabet.

This is a beautiful book to begin learning letter sounds! Also includes a great summary of how to begin teaching reading.

This book is so much fun for me as the Mother and my children. We are often found just looking and stroking this book as it is beautiful. It's opened up many oppourtunities for questions and learning new words through pictures. My kids are 4 and 2 and they both love it

The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and there's plenty of words to talk through. Not just for waldorf enthusiasts...
