Fox 40 Sonik Blast CMG Fingergrip Pealess Whistle - Black

The sound is above average, and that's what I need when officiating a Football in a stadium!!!

Fox 40 Sonic Blast is probably the best whistle for the money. It is easy to modulate and extremely loud. It has a high quality sound to it, not too high and not too low, that gets the attention of everyone on the field. I own quite a few whistles that I use on regular basis, below is my recommendation based on my my personal observation. 1. Fox 40 Sonic Blast – extremely loud with good sound quality. Great for outdoor, too loud for indoor. 2. Fox 40 Pearl – Not very loud but has a deeper sound than other whistles that I have used, other than Caul. Great for Indoor, will do on a small field outdoor. 3. Acme Tornado – Quite loud and with good sound but the fingergrip mechanism is crap. Good overall for both indoor and outdoor. 4. Molten Delux – As loud as Acme Tornado, but is sounds a bit cheap, plus it does not have a fingergrip mechanism that I prefer. Good for both indoor and outdoor. 5. Fox 40 Classic – As loud as Acme Tornado, but with a much higher pitch. (Too many referees use this whistle on the pitch, indoor and outdoor, but it is quite a good whistle.) 6. Fox 40 Caul – As loud as the Pear but with a deeper tone. (It sounds loud to me, but from personal experience it is not heard easily on the field. I wrote a review of this whistle on Amazon.) Not recommended.

I hate coaching and having a whistle on my neck that bounces around and smacks you while you run! This is the second handheld whistle I’ve purchased (I left the other one in a bag and then donated the bag so the whistle was a bonus) and this one is far superior. Without having to blast air into it, it is loud, real loud! It works great for soccer! The grip is adjustable, so I stretch them out to fit better, and you don’t notice it on your hand as a distraction when scrimmaging or running drills.

This fits comfortably on my fingers but it might be a little snug for someone that has fatter fingers. The sound is great and can be very loud. Built well but the form factor could be a little smaller. There's so much unnecessary plastic that connects the finger hold to the whistle. I also like this style of whistle over the traditional lanyard style. it's annoying having the whistle flop around and this solves that problem for me.

If you are looking for a whistle that you can differentiate from others, look no further. I am a field hockey umpire, and many tournaments have fields that are directly next to each other. The whistle tonality for this particular whistle is different from most, making it easier for players to recognize my whistle and differentiate from other whistle tones near by. It is also very loud and clear, and has a comfortable finger grip. It’s well worth the purchase for any sport!

What the heck!!!! This thing is insanely loud! I have a decibel meter that I will use for work to see if I need earplugs for safety reasons so I thought I’d give it a test with the whistle. All I have to say is …………………..I can’t hear now lol. The first time I blew the whistle, it hit 115 decibels. The second time I did it, I got 118 and I was not going full lung power. And I don’t want to without some hearing protection. See the picture for the decibel reading, but I am very happy with this whistle and plan to use it for soccer coaching. I think it will reach around the whole field and yes, the pitch is very distinctive! Still working strong several soccer games in. Also gave it another test to see just how loud I could get it. 126 decibels is astonishing to say the least. I can still co trol the volume and not go loud if needed.

This my second finger whistle. I absolutely love it. This is a very loud whistle and when blown properly (lol) it can be HEARD!
