Plays everything I throw at it in great quality!
I bought this as a replacement for a 10-year old Pioneer blu-ray, also multi-region, which was acting up after being used to death. I went for the Sony as I have a recent Sony 55" 4K smart TV, which is also great, and because of the many good reviews I found online for this model. So far, I haven't found anything it won't play, regardless of region coding, whether it be blu-ray (video and audio), DVD video and audio, SACD, audio CD, mixed format; you name it, it plays it.At first I was surprised at how small and light it is, and it only has a bare minimum of inputs and outputs compared to my old Pioneer, but sufficient. Oh, and it has no display, which was a first for me; you have to do everything via the on-screen homepage and remote. Also, you can't access it via a home network (my old one had a web interface that could be remotely accessed via phone, tablet or PC). It upscales everything to 3840x2160, and even DVD's (720x576) look OK. Sound quality through my JBL 2.1 soundbar is good (better than the old Pioneer, anyway) with immersive dynamics and good subtlety; no complaints there. Picture quality is pin-sharp and colours well-defined; there is no noticeable noise or artefacting. Slightly annoyingly, it sometimes doesn't remember where it was up to if I come back to watching something I had not finished; the old Pioneer always remembered where it was up to, even across multiple discs, but that's hardly the end of the world. Overall, no major complaints here, and if it proves as reliable as every other Sony device I've had over the years, it should be good for a few years to come.Recommended!

UHD BLU-RAY
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely love this player does everything I want plays everything very easily, just remember to press the right colour buttons for different regions, remember to load draw keep open and press the colour required before closing the draw, great picture everything's crystal clear, great sound, did think it was a little pricey but can definitely tell it was worth that little extra, I'd definitely recommend to those who have all sorts of different region dvds in their collection

Not multi region for DVDs.
Excellent sound /picture quality . Description misleading as it is not multi region as regards DVDs.

Plays multiregion well.
Plays pretty much anything from anywhere. Good options for audio system integration.

Blu-ray Blessing
Great Blu-ray and DVD player, that's very petite and packs a big pounch as it also plays 3D discs and mine has the ability to play muli-region Blu-ray and DVD.I've been wanting this player for a while, I'm very happy.

Excellent
A great little player and good value for money. It comes with a remote that’s laid out simply and with everything easily accessible, which is always a bonus, and it DOES play everything I’ve asked of it so far. DVDs and BLURAY.Just one thing. I notice there’s a rash of one star reviews from folk frustrated it won’t play BLURAY disks . I was one of them until I realised I was wrong and had to delete the review. (rollseyes). It DOES play these. It just doesn’t do it automatically when you put in the disks, as it does with DVDs. To play region A, B and C BLURAY you have to press the yellow button on the remote. Make sure you’ve already switched your TV to the player first. Open the disc drawer and press yellow before putting the disk in and you’re good to go. Once done watching, press the blue button to switch back to general play mode. So, salient lesson, kids. ALWAYS READ THOSE INSTRUCTIONS! (wink) And my apologies to the manufacturers for the previous, erroneous, negative review.

Glitches on 4k's all the time.
Plays Blurays and DVD's fine. Unless your 4k disk is spotless it will glitch out on it at some point. Sometimes plays 4k's without sound as well.
