Plus now I've invested learning how to do it for the future - is how I look at it
It's like a whole new phone. I almost want to buy a bunch so I'll have this phone forever. It's really nice with the frame and glass together. Transferring the volume and power buttons want too bad. Honestly the whole replacement wasn't bad for a first timer. My speaker headset speaker is actually louder and my wife can hear me better. Maybe there was dust or something making a bad connection, but I'm so happy with it. The response feels a lot better and more precise. If it wasn't for the back cover it'd be a new phone. Very impressed. Seriously for me it worked fantastic following you tube videos of how to replace it. Never used hot gun because I feel like it's old enough everything came apart without effort. Literally used a plastic knife, mini screw driver, and tweezers. Should've probably used the hair dryer to remove the battery, but it still came off just fine. Saved 100$ doing it myself. Plus now I've invested learning how to do it for the future is how I look at it

Perfect replacement - Nexus 5 D820
Purchased this after breaking my screen. Classic. Replacement worked perfectly and is as good as new. As others mentioned, no instructions are included but the youtube video(s) are good enough. Just be sure to take everything out of the old shell and put it in the new one before throwing it away since this does not come with EVERY part needed (such as some rubber pads, volume and power buttons). One thing I noticed was that if I had the screws in too tight on the top plastic cover, the volume down button was always compressed once everything was back together. To fix this, I loosened two of the screws near the volume button just a little bit and it worked normally once again.Screen brightness and overall appearance seems exactly the same as the old one.Note that the frame is black matte with a soft feel - not smooth and glossy like the one it replaced in my case.Bonus: This came with a nice thick/quality screen protector. Perfect fit, no bubbles or dirt caught in between.

Could be perfect with just a little more effort.
Great value and works perfectly. Could be a perfect product with just a little more attention from the maker. There were a few minor issues and shortfalls. The worst issue was with the ear speaker grille. There was paint over about a third of the holes, so I had to use the tip of a fine sewing needle to open the holes. In the process of doing that, it became apparent that the grill was not secured in place and can be moved around. Also there is no mesh dust filter inside the grille like the OEM frame has. I managed to pull the filter out of the old frame, but there is no way to get it properly in place on the new frame since it's supposed to be adhered between the glass and frame. I got it in there good enough to work. Same goes for the dust filters for the mic and loud speaker on the bottom edge, although those are easier to transfer from the old frame. The original frame had metallic tape (for shielding or grounding?) in several locations that was difficult to remove and transfer, and didn't adhere well again after being removed. It would have been better for these items to be in place already on the new frame. I had some difficulty with getting some of the film covers off the adhesive patches without pulling the adhesive off the new frame, so that took some patience and multiple attempts in some cases. There was one connector at the bottom that could have been adhered to the frame from the factory since nothing had to go behind it before assembly.

Bad Quality / Shoddy SMT work
The screen stopped working after about two weeks. Initially the screen would cut to black and the back light would stay on. This could be fixed by hard power cycling the phone which suggests the issue was caused by either a bad flex or bad soldering of their screen driver chip. (When the intermittent connection was working again, and a hard cycle was made, screen would come back to normal.) However after about a week this degraded even further and is now impossible to turn back on.Whoever is producing these modules has really bad QA practices.

Looks like factory, pretty good experience
This kit is pretty thorough and includes everything you'll need to install the LCD and digitizer. The fit and finish is like factory, but the included adhesive is just a teeny bit thinner than the factory adhesive and the glass is recessed in the phone's frame. I don't mind that, and it's certainly better than it sticking out. I hope the adhesive holds well enough in the future.I give 5 stars for easy to install because it isn't the seller's fault, but if you haven't done this before be prepared for a hell of a fight. The screen replacement is not at all easy to do. Thanks Google. If I had one negative to share, it's that the included screen protector is completely the wrong dimension and probably for a different phone. I don't think anybody buying this kit should expect the screen protector to fit because it strikes me as a box the seller wanted to check. I'm not hurt about it.

Replacement was a success.
Really can't complain about the product. Like others, I had to watch some YouTube videos to walk me through the process. Couldn't find an exact match for this exact screen replacement, so I had to pay attention to make sure to move some items from the old screen to the new screen that weren't mentioned in any of the videos. End result worked and image quality has been good. No problems with any buttons or anything so I would say it was a success. Just find a good video to walk you through it and look carefully at the screen you are replacing to see if there are any pieces that you need to transfer over to the new screen as you go along. I used magnifying lenses and lighting which helped a ton since you don't want to damage any of the components or ribbon cables in the process.Update: 10 months later and the screen is still working like a champ.
