Sig Sauer Romeo 5 1x20mm 2 MOA Red Dot Sight W/ High Mount

This red dot sight is very good quality. The glass and coating provides a nice clear sight picture, the 2MOA dot it very crisp, the aluminum body feels of good quality and the sight mount fits the sight perfectly, both fit and finish. Not a bad mounting method and the overall weight is not too heavy. This model number is for only the high mount sight which is a co-witness height. For an AR the low mount is not necessary and a waste of money. If you need a lower mount for a different weapon get the package with both height mounts for a few extra bucks. The buttons for brightness are nice and tactile, and provide an easy on/off and the auto ON/OFF not only saves battery and stretches the life of a CR2032 to it's max, but this system works very well. It shuts the LED off after 2 minutes and the very slightest movement re-activates the LED. This sight is SOLID. Highly recommended. If there is one negative for me it would be that there is some parallax even though it is advertised as parallax free, but this is true even of the high end sights like aimpoint, trijicon and EOtech and the like. So I give this 5 stars.

When you think affordable Sig Sauer doesn't tend to come to mind. However they got this optic right and the price point even better. This is their oldest ROMEO5 sight and that is why it is priced so well, they have released upgraded versions. This optic checks all the boxes for me. I have been a long time AimPoint user and this sight has really challenged everything I thought I knew about the cost to perfection ratio. You get everything that the higher end red dots come with but at a fraction of the cost and also weight. Yes this is a nice compact little red dot that has shown its worth over the years. Just search ROMEO5 torture tests and you will be amazed how tough this red dot really is. Why is this one even cheaper then the other ROMEO5's? It has a plain cardboard box and includes only the high mount not a low mount. So they saved some money there. But don't think that doesn't mean quality. Who really cares about the box and do you really need that low mount for your setup? Overall I would recommend this to anyone. My brother has 5 of them and that was the reason I decided to give it a try and see how I liked it. Go ahead already and just buy it and throw it on one of your guns that is feeling a little naked.

I bought this on Amazon at about $15 less than what I could find anywhere else. The box was generic looking, but it came with everything advertised. Took about 5 minutes to install and co-witness with my flip-up sights using a laser bore sight. I chose this one specifically for the shake-awake function, which works perfectly. I also like how the adjustment caps have a built-in flathead that fit perfectly in the adjustment knobs, so no tools needed at the range to get is sighted-in. Does not come with instructions, but if you can't figure it out, perhaps you should not be using firearms. Seriously, there's 2 buttons, just note that when you first install the battery, make sure to take the sticker off the battery and remove the sticky residue before you install it, then you will need to turn up the intensity using the + button before you see the dot. Duh, right? Also, as a PSA for those who are new to red dot sights, when aiming, keep both eyes open and focus your eyes on the TARGET, not on the dot. If you focus on the dot, you will probably find it to be blurry. I'm sure there is an occasional bad one out there, but I think most of the negative reviews for this sight are likely user error. But one with confidence and go pew pew with it.

Ok so I'm only writing this review to clear up some misconceptions by some of the other reviews on this item, first off this red dot is 100% coming from Sig themselves however in order for it to have one day shipping and what not Sig has sent a bunch of them to Amazon to sit in there warehouse for faster shipping and that is why they come in a plan looking brown box instead of the original fancy box you see in stores, also there are two versions of this red dot offered by Sig, 1 version has a high and a low mount included, and the 2nd version (this one here) only comes with the high mount (you can check Sig's website if you dont believe me) so dont expect the low mount with your order if you do buy this. Next is the whole dead on arrival business, I'll be honest when I got mine in the post today and opened it up I thought the some thing had happened to me as it would not turn on after I put the battery in, however after a few minutes of sadness I found all I had to do was turn the brightness up (press the + button on top of the red dot) and the site came right on not problem, in the same vane the + button act's as the power button, you hold it to turn off and on the red dot. So with all of that said this is really a great budget red dot, it looks great and has a nice bright green dot and I would highly recommend it, cant wait to take it to the range and put it through some tests.

The dot itself is nice and bright, indoors and outdoors. The accuracy was impressive right out of the box. Shot 2" high at 25 yards, on a 8" 9mm upper. The only gripe I have is the "auto on" or "shake awake" feature doesn't seem to work so prob not a dot I would put alot of faith in. But great for plinking. I know others who have this dot that say that feature works fine so maybe I got a dud but the dot is bright an lens is clear enough for me to not send back. It's great for what I wanted it for. It's definitely not a holo sun but for $120 the value for the money it's great

Simply put, for the money, this sight is excellent! Holds its zero, simple to use, comes on automatically with movement, great on battery life, DURABLE, easy to install, easy on the eye, low profile - all for a fraction of the competition's price! I use this for sporting and defense applications. I could have spent more money, but after watching some serious torture tests on YouTube (being frozen in ice, shot with 12 ga, dropped on concrete, etc.) I decided to give it a try. Glad I did; professional quality with civilian price. Now, this sight is SIMPLE. Easy to mount, adjust and zero. It's also simple in function: a red dot. Period. If you want more apertures or sight pictures, don't buy it. If you just want meat and potatoes, then this is the ticket. I don't care about being "tacticool" - all I care about is what works well and getting the best deal possible. Cannot recommend more highly.

Have 2 of these now on my AR's. Really like them.
