The P.A.N. Flour is just perfect. As a lover of Venezuelan and Colombian cuisine, I can't miss preparing arepas, empanadas or hallacas. It has a very fine texture, is easily hydrated and the result is always soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. In addition, it does not contain gluten, which is ideal for those looking for wheat-free options.The flavor is authentic, as I remember it since I was little. Fun to use
This is kind of fun to work with. I actually needed just a small amount for certain bread recipes I wanted to try, but I experimented with the recipe on the package yesterday after I received a reminder about reviewing it. Mixing it with water made a soupy sludge textured dough that quickly became thicker as I mixed it. Letting it rest for five minutes thickened it even more. I cooked little patties of it in a nonstick skillet as directed, but I couldn’t get them flat enough. My dough was probably a little too wet. I’m not sure what they were supposed to be because I seldom eat Mexican food, but they tasted really good with salt. The outside was crunchy and the inside was soft. It was really fun watching the dough thicken up. Like a science experiment. That alone made it worth buying, but I also enjoyed an interesting lunch with what I made.
