Bauerfeind MalleoLoc Ankle Brace - Size 1 - Left

This is my third brace and it’s always been money well spent. Great quality and comfort

3 weeks. It seems to work. Quality is truly excellent. I have been flat footed forever. In old age my left ankle became difficult. 6 weeks in a boot. 6 months of PT. Started looking @ Ortho catalogs. This looked interesting. And expensive. I work brace daily for 2 weeks. Now wearing as. Night training brace. +Ankle pain greatly reduced. -Tricky to put on. It's a long, twisted reach to the outside of an ankle. -Hard to slip the buckle into a shoe. Good comfort once brace is in shoe.

I use this to support my ankle when walking on uneven ground. It really helps to reduce fatigue for my leg affected by stroke. It is more comfortable than the AFO. I can wear it with shorts , as long as I use a longer sock.

I’m so confused on how to put this on. im a stroke survivor with the use of one arm.. so that probably has something to do with it.. sounds ridiculous but directions or a visual instruction might be really helpful?? Otherwise, it’d be a great brace.. although it’s pretty bulky. Won’t fit in a lot of my shoes.

Excellent quality as expected from Bauerfeind. Recomended by my orthopedic surgeon for use after weeks in a moonboot. Provides good support for avulsion fracture to ATF and C Ligaments on ankle. Some difficulty in finding a comfortable position initially. Attention to position of stirrup forward of outer ankle and behind inner ankle to provide correctly positioned support is necessary. I use one of the padded inserts from my previous moonboot to stop excess pressure in inner/lower calf where the top of the rigid stirrup is positioned. Recommend wearing over a sock to alleviate sweating against foam lining and can be worn with sneakers when laced looser. If required a small pad at top of inner stirrup to prevent soreness from pressure against calf when walking or standing for extended periods Top strap is curved to allow for a shaped hold, however bottom strap is straight and there is a degree of difficulty it getting a secure and flat wrap without one edge of the strap gaping. I have particularly slim ankles exacerbating the issue and have had to readjust several times while wearing to ensure a balance of support and comfort without having to overtighten lower stap for even pressure and no gaping on edge. Further development by Bauerfeind into the shape of the lower strap would be beneficial for a more comfortable and stable fit. Size 9US womems shoe using size 1 Left brace.

If there are any fellow Zebras out there looking for ankle/arch stability, this brace is 100% worth the cost. I have braces or support garments for my shoulder, ribs, hips, knees, fingers, wrists....basically a whole exoskeleton. These are my favorite. The don't just compress, but align. The material is very durable. It also does not absorb odor causing bacteria from your feet/shoes. You will likely have to adjust some of your shoes or even the type of shoe you wear. For me, it is totally worth it.

I got two of these braces. Both of them were twisted/warped so bad there was no good way to even consider wearing this.

While we all hate to be hurt and any product designed to help us out when we are injured is kind of a double edged sword, I like this brace. It does restrict the mobility of the ankle, and this would be a bad thing unless it is exactly what the product was designed to do. This brace kept me going through a whole summer of soccer and hiking on a severely sprained ankle. It is not the most comfortable thing in the world and it does restrict your gate, however I was happy to be a little uncomfortable and restricted while doing what I wanted rather than sitting on the couch eating bon-bons. This product does exactly what it is intended to do.

This was recommended by my physio to strengthen my loose ligaments. It helped like a treat! It does take a bit of getting used to in terms of strapping it so do follow guidance from your physio. Also recommend wearing it over a longer sock (not a trainer sock) if you are wearing it at night. You do get a touch sweaty which can cause rubbing which is uncomfortable. I did sock this a star as the rubber cane away from the plastic on the base really quickly which was frustrating considering the cost. But it lasted me the 3 months or so of wear!
