The Midnight Library

This is a cute book. The kids liked it a lot.

My daughter and I love this book. The story is cute and the art is great.

Nice story and illustrations; both my 2 year old and 4 year old enjoy it

My granddaughter who is studying English education fell in love with this book. She took it to the university to show fellow students who are studying elementary education. I love the young girl librarian with braids and her three young owl assistants. As a retired librarian, I sympathized with her trying to get the turtle out the door at closing time. (Spoiler alert for adults only: she made him a book card so he could take the book with him!)

This book is incredibly cute, and my 2 year old loves reading it. She likes pointing out the different animals, and trying to open the door on the splash pages, lol.

We first found this book at our local library. My granddaughter and I really enjoyed reading and rereading the book. I just had to buy the book to add to my granddaughter’s book collection

The story isn’t super in depth, but it’s cute and the illustrations are really unique. I saw in another review someone was concerned about the printer quality, but that’s how it’s meant to look. The illustrations are linoleum block prints, which makes sense since the author/illustrator bio says she studied printmaking. Basically big, hand-carved stamps where ink is applied and pressed onto paper. The ink isn’t spotlessly perfect ever, which makes unique!

My 3yo daughter loves this. It's simple and cute. The contrasting colors are perfect and it's a great bedtime reading story.

Im Moment nur in englisch erhältlich, doch ein wirklich liebevoll illustriertes Kinderbuch. Es ist zwar eindeutig auf den amerikanischen Markt zugeschnitten, weil man die einzelnen Bereichen einer öffentlichen amerikanischen Bibliothek lernt, doch es schadet nie zu lernen wie wundervoll Bibliotheken sind und welch Nutzen sie haben.

気になっていた本。日本語は図書館で、洋書はペーパーバックで、と考えていたら、電子書籍版を見つけてしまった。絵本を電子機器で読むことにうしろめたさを感じていたが、作者がオッケーを出したなら・・・ということで、購入。 そうか、綴じ目なしで読めるのか！これは、素敵！ 紙書籍の魅力はそれとして、電子の工夫も見逃せくなってきた。 このお話に出てくる心優しい小さな図書館員たちなら、どう思うかな？

Adorei as ilustrações, os personagens e a mensagem. É muito importante despertar nas crianças a paixão por livros. Mal posso esperar para ler junto com meu neto, que está começando a estudar inglês.

Good story with nice illustrations! My son is 6 and he still likes me to read this book.
