I listened on Audible and was giggling from the get-go to Sebastian York's perfectly timed delivery of Lauren's latest rom-com funny moments.Patrick is all man, and a furry feline sidekick in Zeus. To say that Zeus is my cherry and icing on the cake is an understatement. Lauren gives good cat! That is all I am saying. I was in stitches.Having known Mia from other books, I am delighted she has her own story and ended up on the trail of Patrick. He is fit, handsome and a genuinely great guy (swoon). Although not a fan of hiking and the woods myself, I can see the attraction of getting up close and personal in a tent with this man to keep me safe and HOT! Pass me my boots, I am booking a trip.With some old favourites from the past popping in, it is romance, friends and just what I want to relax and enjoy some fun, flirting and forking of marshmallows over a camp fire.Get ready to go all soft inside for the hard wood.

No it's not a love triangle....This is a gorgeous romance about an extraordinarily handsome rugged outdoor trail guide called Patrick, a sweet , sassy girl named Mia and an utterly adorable cat named Zeus.Patrick and Mia have had the hots for each other for a while but neither has done anything because Mia is Patrick's friend/neighbour's little sister. Eventually temptation proves too much and these two finally explore their very HOT chemistry. And it is hot. Scorching really.Zeus the cat is a brilliant little character and his pov chapters were hilarious. Oh The tension of the calico cat....but all is well if you eat enough tuna.This is a sweet, romantic and sexy book with hardly any angst. No cheating. Gorgeous HEA. Perfect light read for an Autumn afternoon.

I have loved the Big Rock series, but I have to say Hard wood is definitely my favourite. As it was quirky, fun, entertaining and after a slow start it soon had me hooked. With great characters, who had plenty of chemistry. Chapters told from Zeus the cats point of view and appearances from all of the other couples in this series. This really was a great read and a brilliant ending to the series.

Make sure you go back and read from the beginning, although each book can be read as a standalone. Loved each book in series and the characters are all so likeable. Highly recommend

Lauren Blakely you are a legend at writing the most hilariously romantic books I've ever had the pleasure of reading! I am extremely sad this series has come to an end! I can't wait for whatever comes next in her rom-com collection! I seriously can't rate this book and it's series companions high enough!

Another great story from Lauren. And I really enjoyed that there wasn’t any major argument near the end where the couple think they have lost their true love forever.Easy to read. A few steamy scenes. Roll on to next book.

I am hooked on Lauren's books. The people in her stories always stand out from the pages. They are so real. Loved this story of love conquering distance. Brilliant to read.

Patrick and Mia's story is brilliant. In fact the whole series is a must read as it is one that can be read over and over again.

A partir do momento em que Patrick e Mia descobrem que encontraram seu par perfeito, ambos mergulham de cabeça no relacionamento. Patrick e Mia vão de zero a cem em questão de poucas semanas, ambos certos que encontraram o grande amor. Rápido mas sem aquela sensação de instalove ou romance mal acabado, a autora apresenta um envolvimento sexy, romântico e emocional que conquistou meu interesse desde as primeiras páginas. Os sentimentos e emoções vividos pelos protagonistas em nenhum momento parecem forçados ou irreais.O desenvolvimento da trama embalada a zero drama e um sem número de momentos românticos acrescenta originalidade a esse romance delicioso.Super recomendado para os fãs da autora que se encantaram com essa divertida sequência de standalones. She delivers a fun and sexy conclusion in her latest addition to her loosely connected series of standalones from Big Rock, all told from the male hero’s view point, these sexy, sweet stories that are entertaining, unputdownable and wholly addictive.Readers of this series have been teased with a Patrick Milligan and Mia Summers for a few books now. In 'Hard Wood', Ms. Blakely created a couple with tremendous chemistry and quick-witted banter that kept me furiously swiping at my Kindle screen. A solid foundation of friendship may have been the basis of this relationship, but they just fit so well together, however with an entire continent between them, they have a few physical and mental hurdles to get over.The chemistry and the banter between these two is so damn hot! I knew the moment I started this book I wasn't going to be able to put it down and pretty much had a smile on my face for their entire story.

I have found the big rock series repetitive at times, however this book was an easy enjoyable weekend read. Patrick and Mia are attracted however they live on two different coasts. This is a story of how to solve this dilemma, act on the attraction and make it work. There was no drama just two people navigating falling in love. It was charming.Only three stars because Lauren’s stories are always the same, banter, sex, friends, New York life, everything the same in each book but hey nothing wrong with familiarity if it’s well written.

Loved this sweet, hilarious story! Patrick and Mia were so cute together and it was refreshing how they worked through everything together in an upfront kind way without any drama. Not that I don’t love the drama filled stories too! 😉 Absolutely loved the conversations with the cat chapters 😂 it was adorable. Wonderful heartwarming love story!

Loved this series and sad that this is the conclusion. One of my favourite troupes is friends to lovers!! Patrick and Mia are great together..throw in a loveable cat and they are purr...fect!!! Great catching up with the rest of the gang!! Don't hesitate to buy this great book!!
