Medium: Season 6

ANOTHER GOOD SHOW BITES THE DUST
What is it about network executives that they fear airing shows that dare to be different? Has variety become a thing of the past for TV viewers? Are we all doomed to watch mindless reality programs that show people at their worst? Programs where you can "text" while watching TV and not miss a thing? When I heard that MEDIUM had been cancelled, I can't say I was surprised. It was different than other programs and it seems that networks consider that a bad thing.I've spent the past month watching MEDIUM from the very beginning to the end of Season 6 on DVDs. I fell in love with the characters all over again. Then I cursed the networks for being such spineless cowards for cancelling it. While I watched Season 6, I noticed a shift in the story line. We saw more dreams from Bridget, Marie and especially, Ariel. Is this what brought the ratings down and made the network cancel it? Was the public unhappy about this change or were they unable to understand the plot while "texting"? As much as I prefer to see Allison in the lead role, it was a nice change to see what the girls were experiencing for a few episodes. As Ariel grew closer to high school graduation and going on to college, I felt this would open the door to more story possibilities. I never imagined this change would turn viewers away and bring on the death of this wonderful program. For me....this was the last program I still enjoyed watching on television. Now I'll go to my DVD collection for entertainment. There are no commercials to destroy the plots and I am entertained by everything I see. Now that MEDIUM is no more, if I had my way I'd cancel our satellite TV all together. I consider it a waste of money since no one can ever find anything that's worth watching. I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the final Season 7 of MEDIUM. I will be among the first to purchase it, knowing there will be no more episodes. Maybe sometime, in the far future, some network executive will get the bright idea to bring another different kind of program to television. To be different and offer variety to the viewers. I just hope I live long enough to see it.

I still love the show
I love Medium but only wanted to purchase episode 1 from season 6. The entire season was ordered in error. There was no option to cancel this order. You can observe that episode 1 was the only one I viewed. Please credit my account for the remainder of the season. Thank you

Good shows hampered by too many "stop the world, I've got to pursue my ghost dream" crises
I fully admit I binged-watched so it wasn't like I had weeks between episodes. That meant the constant Allison waking her husband up at 3 am with some earth shattering dream grew tiresome. That said, acting was brilliant for all involved and the plots that ultimately evolved were good. It's just that no family could survive in real life with the endless hospital bills and "I can't make that important meeting because my wife has another psychic emergency" life disruptions. I know this is fantasy but this show could have been truly awesome if the producers had toned down the "Oh my God, I must endanger my family's wellbeing by going on another drawn out wild goose chase with ghosts".As a side note, I saw Boyhood and Arquette was great in it, but in my opinion I think she really won the award for Medium since her acting is that good.

Acting writing and storylines are top-notch and this is one of my all-time favorite series.
I am a huge fan of Patricia Arquette and the Medium series and most of the storylines, but in Season 6, THE "Time Keeps on Slipping" episode, young Sofia Vassilieva absolutely outdid herself on this episode. The acting and the writing was just superb and will remain one of my favorite episodes. This young woman can really act and when she performed with this excellent script that showcased her immense talent, I was just thrilled to see her carry the episode with such strength and intensity. I was blown away by this episode.Of course, Patricia Arquette and Jake Weber, in all of the episodes, have great chemistry and lots of great interaction. This series will make you believe in Allison Dubois's talents as a medium and a psychic. Arquette is very convincing and a compassionate character. She also has her funny moments.

DVDs arrived all messed up, which is common.
My recent DVD order just arrived today and as usual, the DVD box is smashed & broken. See photos. The discs are in tact so I’ll keep it, especially since it took a while to get here, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering DVDs from Amazon again. They were put in a flimsy paper envelope & the side was torn open when I got it. The box won’t stay closed since it was broken into multiple pieces. If the discs don’t work when I play them, this will be returned. This happens almost every time I order DVDs from Amazon & I’ve just put up with it, but I’m tired of broken boxes that are there to protect the discs.

Love the cast
Never watched this series in prime time, but we are utterly engrossed in the series. Each season builds upon the previous one, with more twists and turns. Love the cast, especially watching the children grow and become more involved in the plot lines. The show is to be commended for dealing with very difficult subject matter (i.e. unemployment, inability to pay bills, stresses of raising a teenage daughter, etc.) while keeping it all so surreal given the "gifts" which Allison and her daughters share. Jake Weber is simply outstanding as the most understanding and supportive spouse ever portrayed on television. Generally, good fun to watch!

Good price for each season compared to other TV series
My husband and I both enjoy this series and watched it when it was originally on TV years ago. We have since decided to invest in all the seasons on DVD. We have not been disappointed.

All subtitles needed, good pack but show about to end
As many people like me care about subtitles, I gotta say that it has indeed. But I think there is a lot to criticise on this season. Many of the episodes are as good as always but in other definitely screenwriters rushed to and end, braking all the rules we have followed for ages, the dead themselves have lost their mystery, talking too much, reasoning too much. I've never seen that in all seasons before and know I get why public left the program die, although be aware there is enough fun in the good episodes to justify getting the season. In the other hand the other character were better developed including the three young Dubuis who ere growing up and taking bigger part with some succeed, even Joe is given more lines out the main story, all great but does not hide the problem the screenwriters lacked more Ideas for our beloved Allison.

Medium Season 6 Still Some good Stories for the most part.
Another good season with some good stories, that involve the children, I really liked the one in which the eldest daughter is babysitting (I will not say more do not want to spoil it for anyone). Well worth purchasing. Will have to get the 7th and final season to see how they finished the show.

No loss of interest
For such a well established franchise, the risk of jumping the shark is always a worry but this season is as good as previous ones and gives fans all sorts of new directions to enjoy in the Dubois family life and marriage, as well as interesting plot-lines and guest performances.

Always enjoyable
Having missed the series as not shown on normal TV, I decided to buy the two final series. I have not been disappointed with series 6. Watching the family interact and grow is part of the enjoyment of the programme, together with the ongoing stories of the rest of the cast. Looking forward to season 7.

I used to love this series
I used to love this series, although it was on very late in the evening. That is why I bought the series . I would love it if the powers that be will bring the series back on one channel or another. The whole family is so nice/
