Disappointed considering the other reviews.
When I bought this, there were 9 reviews, 8 five star and 1 four star. I feel I am being generous with 2 stars. On my late model Harley Electraglide with 3/4 helmet and big fairing, these are useable, but nothing stellar, at highway speeds, might as well be turned off. On my 1966 Harley with 3/4 helmet and no windshield, they are useless at anything above a crawl. I don't have loud pipes on either bike. I tried an iPhone 5, iPhone 4 and iPod Shuffle. Surprisingly the shuffle worked best with this set of headphones and the only reason I gave it two stars. I watched the YouTube videos on how to install and the headphones are pointed at my ear. I'm going to buy an amplifier in hopes of salvaging this purchase, but recommend you look elsewhere.EDIT: My Pyle PHE5AB amplifier arrived today, so I just took the same two bikes for a ride. About 30 miles each. The sound is now acceptable. I would have gladly paid the pice of the headphones plus the amplifier for a single product that worked right from out of the box. I maintain my two star rating, if the headphones weren't stuck to the inside of my helmet and me taking a trip next week, I'd send them back.EDIT 2: After just less than a month, the little button case on the cord that controls volume came apart while riding exposing the wires and now they don't work. Maybe I just got a defective set of these.

Placement is key
These are okay ear pieces. I have an HJC Full Face Helmet, and I ride a 1200 Sportster that is plenty loud on it's own. Once I found the right placement in the helmet for these, they produce plenty of quality sound at 55-60 mph, which is really the max comfortable speed on my bike.At first they were just so so. But once I was able to place them in the correct position for my ears, they were good. They aren't the best fit with my helmet, but I don't blame it on the ear pieces necessarily. I really wish I could find a helmet with the ear pieces built in. But for the money these are pretty good. And I'm a critical person when it comes to good sound.

Pretty Good, but....
Five stars compared to wearing earbuds inside a full face helmet. Nice, thin profile fits easily into helmet without any trouble or discomfort. Volume is plenty. Overall a good purchase but really disappointed that by about the 5th or 6th song, the left speaker is doing that annoying/buzzing/vibrating sound as if the speaker has been partially blown out. Without that buzzing noise, this product is a 5 star. Oh, and the volume control doesn't work at all - have to control volume from your device so if your cell is zipped away inside your jacket you'll have to pull over, take the gloves off, unzip the jacket, etc to adjust volume.

great head phones
These head phones are really simple to use in your helmet! They come with a velcro backing so it will stick to the insides of your ear ports inside your helmet. I really like the little thumb controller for the sound volume/pause button. It makes it so you can fast foward, pause, increase/decrease the volume without ever having to pull your ipod out of your pocket. All you have to do is take a glance in your mirror and see the toggle controller under your chin strap, and do what you need with your free hand while cruising. The volume was great...it was like having surround sound in my helmet!! ..granted I'm wearing a full face helmet..but still...I really could hear the music well at 70+mph on the expressway. Only con is that the wires get tangled sometimes, because they give nice long cords for you to use...so maybe some kind of wire tie would be useful.

Full face helmet
I installed these speakers in my full face helmet and they work perfect. I have a jardine GP1 exhaust (really loud) and I can still hear my music and calls clearly. It will take some work getting the speakers in the right spot but once they are you'll love it. I didn't use the velcro that come on with the speakers, the speakers stick to the helmet lining without the velcro. I taped the mic on the front wall of my helmet and let the rest of the wire hang inside my jacket. Also word of advice, your speakers may be mounted close to your straps like mine so what i do is hold the speakers with my thumbs when putting the helmet on that way my ears slide right over them. But overall for the price and the quality can't beat it, most definately better then spending 100$ for the actual bluetooth divice.

Misled Product Info
The idea of being able to use Siri on my iPhone 5 to answer the phone, or turn the volume up or down, seemed like a nice idea. However these headphones did not work for the iPhone 5s. Even though the description said and I quote "The remote and mic are supported only by iPhone 3GS OR later". This lead me to believe the head phones remote would work for the iPhone 5s.They aren't very loud. I would prefer earbuds being in my ears to hear better. Once I hit like 55+mph its very very low. I wouldn't call this a 40 dollar item. Maybe $20 tops!

good
pros: Very easy to install. When not required for short trips they can easily removed leaving the Velcro beneath the helmet's liner. bought space Velcro strips from walmart and used them for another helmet. cheaper solution than blue tooth (and safer - no EM waves! )cons: volume seems to be a bit low for a regular head phones profile.

Helmet stereo headphones
The product works similarly to the iPhone remote headphones. The controls are stiffer and smaller, however, which can make them difficult to find, at times. The sound is good, and clear, but putting on my helmet, they usually cause my ears to curl. No big deal, and can be rearranged once the helmet is on, fully.
