Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Staple Floating Pellets For Pets, Medium

I’ve been using this Hikari cichlid food for a while now, and overall it’s been a solid choice. My fish go for it right away, which is always a good sign. The pellets float, so it’s easy to see how much they’re actually eating instead of guessing, and it helps cut down on overfeeding. One thing I really like is that it doesn’t make the water all cloudy like some cheaper foods do. My tank stays pretty clean as long as I don’t overdo it. It’s also got a decent amount of protein and added vitamins, so it’s a good everyday food for keeping fish healthy and growing . That said, it’s more of a “basic” food than a premium one. The ingredients aren’t super fancy, and some fish can be picky—mine love it, but I’ve heard of others that won’t touch it. So it might depend on your fish. Overall, it’s reliable, affordable, and gets the job done. If your cichlids like it, it’s definitely a good staple to keep on hand.

I keep full grown 10-12” cichlids in my pond and the first 3 years of their lives they ate only cichlid flakes. then I went and bought them different treats and now that they know the variety of food available.. they will snub certain foods regularly. They LOVE sinking pellets but im sick of scooping out whatever gets trapped places (like in Come on sit down a particularly feisty fishes territory, they won’t let anyone come in and get that food 🤣) Anyway, long story short none of my fish will eat these. My Oscar will eat the floating sticks and all of them will eat the floating frozen worms and shrimp mix. But if I put this in there, they just give me that look and don’t touch it. The convicts at the bottom would probably eat it, but these are way too big for most of them to get in their mouth. These remind me of Corn pops cereal But not that big. Only took one star off because my Fish won’t eat it, but I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with it I’m sure many fish love it. If you know your fish like floating pellets, then they will probably like these.

I've got a picky Jack Dempsy that will only eat these or live foods. Anything else will be left. She is big and beautiful.

I keep some fairly large South American cichlids and they grow and show their colors wonderfully with a combination of these Hikari foods, I also feed some frozen foods occasionally, but the dry Hikari foods are their primary foods keeping them growing and healthy. Will use Hikari food always

My daughter's fish is a jerk, but he loves this food and it gives him something to peck at besides the other fish in the tank! The previous food we fed him he reluctantly ate, but this food he eats extremely fast and gets mad at his neighbors for even getting close to it. As you can see in the video he doesn't even like the picostomus to get near it and he doesn't even eat it! 🐠🎏
