Perfect fix for my 08 Sierra
I can't complain about my tailgate breaking since my truck has 368k miles on it...but it happened at the most inopportune time, and without warning. This was a perfect fix, a great price, and it took longer to disassemble the mechanism than it did to install the new parts. Tailgate works just like new now, and I have 2 extra sets for the next time. Highly recommend!

IF they last, this will have been a GREAT purchase.
The product fits as advertised. It allows my tailgate to be opened by the handle (when the OEM clip broke after close to 18 years). Being plastic it's hard to tell quality and whether they will last in the New England seasons (hot and cold). If they last 10 years, it's a definite great buy and if they only last a year then not so much, but only time will tell. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and give them 5 stars for now as they fit, are the same color as OEM (makes identifying left/right easy, and currently working to open the tailgate.

This and a YouTube video saved a visit to a repair shop
Easy, low cost fix to a stuck closed tailgate. Original clip fractured, aided by 15 years of use and cold weather. Replaced both clips and have sets as spares. Removing tailgate handle surround was a bit fiddly and reinserting upon completion be mindful of lock cylinder interconnection. Took about 15 minutes and only some plastic door panel tools to avoid scratches. Note that handle surround has three clips to pop out two top, one bottom on my 2008 Silverado.
