Zero Tolerance 0180 Hinderer Fieldtac G10 Knife

The knife is really just fantastic. It's a great blade shape and size. The grip is comfortable. There's really nothing about the knife itself that I don't like. The sheath that it comes with is garbage. It is large. The knife fits loosely in the sheath so it moves around a lot making it noisy and the only thing that actually holds the knife in the sheath is a thumb snap. Otherwise it's about as secure as carrying the knife in a sock. I'm sure there are better sheaths out there for the knife, but I just can't figure out why ZT would package such a great knife with such a poorly matched sheath.

What's not to love. Size is perfect weight rocks. Solid piece. Bevel was good but edge machine marks could have been better. Grip is great and hand filling. Pretty much perfect length for multi-function utility knife.I spent about 3 hours reprofiling the 'port' side of the blades edge. I have good gear, patience, and a decent hand. Steel is insane. Hard to sharpen but nice shiny edge taken to about 10,000 grit and SHARP!Sheath is better than average, however I'm going to search out a low profile kydex setup.Arrived earlier than expected packaged perfectly.I have two dozen ZT knives; this is in top five!VR/SLD in CT

Got the knife but it was the wrong one .I did look it over and being a knife guy,i really appreciated the quality and the fit and finish . The blade was razor sharp . I lked it enough to keep it !

Awesome knife. Correct fit, razor sharp out of the box and way more durable than 3V.

Million Dollar knife with a ten cent sheath.This is one of the finest knives I have ever seen.I had a difficult decision between this and the Fallkniven F1.The weakness of this purchase is the sheath which has an oversized plastic insert that is so big it allows the knife to slap at its sides with every step. It also has 2 rivets at the bottom that one can only hope won't damage the tip of the blade.I phoned Zero Tolerance and spoke with Ensley, a very nice woman that knows of this issue. She said they have nothing in the works to rectify it and suggested I speak with a sales manager Pat O'Donnel.Pat O'Donnel said he knew of the issue and that they don't make many of these knives, their focus is on the thousands of folders they sell.I suggested that since not many are made they should have time for some good quality control.He then backpedaled saying they sell too many to check each sheath, but if I send my knife back in he would see about finding a sheath that may fit.Hmmmm, I said there was nothing wrong with the knife and any model 0180 should be the identical size and he could check without me sending mine back. I was now curious, was thee a size issue with these knives also? I wanted to buy American, but we seem to not have good quality or attitude about our products in this case.He lamented and said they are looking into doing something but had no firm plans and the equipment to produce their own sheath was far too expensive.I suggested he do some research and mimic the sheaths found on the Gerber LMF II which provided a fit so tight that the knife could be worn upside down and not fall out as well as having a sharpener built in for half the price. He is unfamiliar with his competition and yet the Gerber LMF II is usually rated in the top 5-7 best fixed blade knives in the industry. Why doesn't he know that?I went on to share with Mr O'Donnel that if zero tolerance went cheap on the sheath it makes one wonder where else they went cheap!I sold my folder the next day and am now selling this knife and buying the Fallkniven F1 which is actually rated much higher than this one and the torture test is amazing. It receives 5 star ratings constantly, with an incredible sheath and for less money.Mine arrived from Amazon 2 days after I ordered it, it's perfect, razor sharp with a sheath that actually looks as though it were designed for this knife. Its also nice to see the Fallkniven A1 list at $220.00 vs the zero tolerance at $275.00.Sorry Zero Tolerance, you need to step up your game if you're going to compete.

There aren't any pictures or reviews online that do this knife justice! Bought it on a whim since I like ZT and it is extremely impressive
