I consider myself very skilled in sewing and quilting, but haven't done much applique. Within the first few pages, I was very glad I got this book. Well written, well illustrated. Several different methods to chose from. I am inspired. This is a keeper reference book!

The book is great for appliqué beginners or anyone who wants to improve appliqué skills Basically instruction book with one or two patterns. If you want a pattern book do not buy this.

Kim Diehl is a master at applique and this book shows all of us how to do various methods of applique. The text is easy to follow and interesting. There are color pictures galore of various projects and detailed photographs of the steps of the techniques. She covers wool applique, hand applique and machine applique techniques. I would recommend this book for new as well as experienced stitchers.
