I am a professional artist and took a bookbinding course while still in college ten years ago. While the bone folders are plastic, I don't mind, because 1) I already have a real "bone" bone folder and 2)the price of this big set is way too reasonable to complain about that. The awl is sharp, the plastic folders and creasers work well enough, the waxed linen threads are sturdy and the assortment of colors is amazing!!! The needles are various enough to do different stabs and bindings, and the glass vial to keep the needles in is a very nice touch! The fast Prime shipping was just another awesome bonus, I got free with the one day shipping option, and since I live in the boonies of northern Minnesota, I couldn't have asked for a better set, at a better price, and with such fast shipping! Just buying a couple individual thread sets would have cost as much as this bundle. Glad I took the plunge!

I wanted to get started practicing bookbinding. Instead of piecemealing it out I decided to go for this set and it has been wonderful. The different colors of the thread, the thread being pre-waxed, and all of the other things that go with it have been working wonderfully.

I got this for my boyfriend, he was looking for a bone folder for book binding specifically, but this popped up and had a much sharper, smaller awl, some nice needles, more waxed linen thread that's a really nice quality, nice that it came with two sizes of bone folder. Would definitely buy more thread from this shop, and it was delivered very fast 😁

This is a nice little set of tools for beginners. If you’re just starting out, this has almost everything you need to start making books. The waxed thread is decent, and the included needles are a good size for most size books.The awl is OK- it gets the job done. Same for the plastic bone folders- they’re nothing special but work as expected.Overall, this is a great value and a good starter kit. Highly recommended if you are starting or getting back into bookbinding!

I’ve been learning Japanese bookbinding as a hobby and I wanted to have all the tools to make it easier. This set had everything required for a very reasonable price. I have been especially pleased with the paper drill, which is sharp and sturdy and has made punching holes according to the template so much easier. The bone folder is also very useful, and I appreciate the amount and colors of waxed thread and the different sized needles. I can’t speak as a professional, but as a beginning hobbyist, this set delivered exactly what I needed.

I used this set to make a prop spell book for a photo shoot I have coming up. I was flabbergasted that this was so affordable and included all the binding tools you needed. In the past when I have ordered things on Amazon sometimes things would be missing however everything came as advertised and the quality was great!You'll find you actually get a good amount of waxed thread as well. For this price I was expecting the bare minimum but I was surprised at the generous amount of materials included. I would recommend this set to friends or anyone looking to start bookbinding.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the kit. It contained multiple different threads, an awl, needles, and two different boning folder tools. All good quality. I recommend this kit!

I'm so glad I got this set! I make junk journals to sell on etsy & this has been a game changer. The awl is just the right size for my hand, is super sharp & makes poking the holes so easy. The waxed thread could be a little thicker, but I'm really not complaining- its sturdy enough for what I'm doing & the wax makes it a much smoother process. The needles are also super sharp so you do have to watch for split threads. Overall, super happy with this kit & how easy it makes my process.

I am extremely satisfied with this starter book binder kit. It gave me everything I needed to bind some agendas I designed. The bones are definitely plastic and a bit weak. They could be slightly firmer and stronger. But, the awl is very sharp and very effective, and the needles are great too. The thread has a nice layer of wax, good colour variety, and lots of thread per spool. I will buy from this line of products again.

I made two handmade journals 240 pages each and I have to say the kit made the job more efficient. I really like the waxed thread that was included and the right needles that worked so well. The bone folders worked great. They are great quality. No complaints. Very happy.

My awl was nice and sharp and I like the variety of waxed threads - a great starter kit. Will meet my needs for binding journals.

I took a book binding class last week. I wanted to try it out on my own. This was an excellent purchase for starting out. If I want to continue I will need more items, but it’s perfect to start. It was good quality. The bone folder isn’t the sturdiest but better than I expected. There was lots of thread choices and in colours I like.
