Jack Lift-Mate LM-100

I bought this accessory to the Farm Jack I bought and thought I might use it sometime. Well it turned out extremely useful early on. I had a pick up truck that I needed to access the starter motor. I used to lay on the ground, but at 68 I don't get up and down as easily as I used to and I bought one of those creepers with the large casters so I can move about on uneven ground. The truck was on a concrete slab, but I could not get it up high enough without it slipping off the jack. So I used the Lift-Mate and hooked the device to the spokes on the right front wheel. It worked great. I bought the 60": farm jack and it picked the front of that truck up easily and high enough so I could slide a ramp under the front wheel. I could not start the truck due to electrical problems and I had to figure out how to get it on the ramp, this was a great solution. I would spend the extra money for this accessory to the farm jack.

So it's well built and rugged. The Straps are yellow not black. the hooks are solid and coated in vinyl to protect your rims. The Straps are heavy duty. The block that pushes against your wheel is solid and mounts nicely to the jack. What's STRANGE is the concept that the device press against your rim AND Tire RIGHT at the BEAD. It works really well and even if you grab the rim all the way at the bottom unless you have like 18" rims it seems part of the rubber pad is going to push on the bead of the tire when you lift. if you go to hi lift's web site you'll see the video and they only recommend lifting it 2" off the ground. So it's really strong and solid but conceptually it would see you wouldn't want anything to be pushing on the sidewall of your tire. I knew it buying it and am happy with it anyway.

The Hi-Lift Jack worked excellent to lift a wooden deck to adjust deck elevations. The extra additions by Hi-Lift sure may come in use, for the additonal base plate (for using on softer ground surfaces), this hook attachment, and the rubber strap to hold the jack handle to the jack. All Hi-Lift items surely appeared hi-quality and worth the costs.

Took off 1 star for two reasons... First, the flat bar part on both hooks, the part inside the lower strap loops, has a sharp jagged edge that will cut into the straps when in use. So you have to file that flat and re-coat the metal with some kind of liquid rubber or something to protect it. ... And then second, the shipper of this product left off the second line of our shipping address, so I had to go round and round with UPS to get them to find our mis-delivered item. As for the product, other that it's jagged edge flaws, it seems solid and well designed. I probably would have liked some slightly better stitching on the strap joint, but it should be OK for occasional use. The function of this product is what earns it the 4 stars. It preforms a function that's greatly needed, and one that you'd have to jury rig up something that'd be a lot less stable and convenient otherwise, when using the hi-lift jack in rough terrain.

i have a jeep XJ cherokee with about 6" of lift and 33" tires. I have a 48" hi-lift jack. I got the smaller one mainly b/c of space as i wanted it to fit under my rear seat in my jeep. With the 48" i can use my front bumper or my rocker rails as jack points, however it would be pretty difficult to get a tire off the ground unless i maxed out the jack. This item helps a lot to raise the wheel off the ground and be able to put something underneath the wheel for better traction like a log or rock. My only small complaint is that there is a nut that holds this onto your hi-lift. would be better if the nut was a bit longer and that it came with a wing nut instead of a lock nut. Otherwise the build quality is very good, it has a rubber pad that goes up against the tire. The hooks are extremely strong and the straps are stitched very very well.

A JKU stock Jeep has no lift point that can be reached by the short beak of Hi-lift without causing damage and the Lift-mate is a necessary addition. Most folks lift on their steel bumpers but the plastic bumpers of a stock Jeep well be damaged. The plastic covered hooks fit into openings on the wheel. I found no damage on my stock Rubicon wheels after using the Lift-mate. You do effectively lose about 6-18" of lifting height due to the Lift-mate straps and with our 42" Hi-lift we just barely got the tire off the ground and we exchanged the 42" for a 48" Hi-lift. An advantage of the Lift-Mate is that when lifting the wheel vs the chassis you dont have to lift higher due to the tire suspension dropping as you raise the chassis. A bit concerning was the rest pad of the Lift-mate sits on the tire and pushes against it potentially breaking the bead and releasing the tire pressure. We felt that we needed to inflate the tire to a hi level of PSI to help the tire bead from releasing. I think this is a necessary addition when using a Hi-Lift.

I use this device to help raise my 35 inch wheel high enough to remove and replace the spare tire on my Rubicon. Because the Jeep is raised by 3.5 inches, I also have to assemble a platform using a double layer of 14 inch pieces of 4x4s. It worked for me and my wife (mid and late 70s). She and my 90 year old brother-in-law stabilized the tires side-to-side movement on the jack and I operated the jack. Your results may vary.
