Cable also works with Brocade SAN switch console ports...
The cable I ordered came in the wrong packaging, but looked like the one that was pictured on Amazon. The package was labeled "Data Charging Audio Video Cable."I used the cable to establish a serial CLI session on a Brocade SAN switch, and it worked just fine. (A Brocade engineer had told me in the past that the Cisco compatible console cables would work just fine with their switches.)Can't speak to the longevity of the cable, but it does appear to be put together well. I am satisfied.

If you have a newer MacBook Pro, this is a great cable to carry to connect to Cisco devices.

It''s a console cable.
If you have an older laptop with a DB9 Serial connector, it's a safe bet.I've used it a dozen times on Cisco and Juniper routers.The DB9 is nice and snug, and the RJ-45 is nice and snug. What more do you need? At this price point, it's great.
