From the very start, one feels as if Monica is sitting in your living room sharing her heart. And her heart is one full of love, compassion, empathy and a desire to impart wisdom. This book has challenged me to pick up the cues and to be more intentional about every aspect of my parenting. I am excited to see the changes that this will not only bring to my parenting but to me as a person!!

Wow! This is an exceptional book. Monica challenges and encourages you to be a better mom all while coming across as if you’re just having coffee with one of your best friends. Point after point was immediately practical, challenging me to make some small adjustments in my parenting right away, and I know I’ll be referring back to these points often. But what was even more valuable was how often as I read I found myself turning to prayer – both prayers of repentance and renewal for myself, and prayers for my boys. And that’s where the books real strength lies, because of its foundation on Biblical truths and faith in Jesus, it offers HOPE. Not just wishful thinking for our boys’ futures, but the kind of real, solid HOPE we can place our confidence in, that our loving God has got this. And who doesn’t need that reminder in the ups and downs of being a boy mom.

I have three wonderful boys and this book has helped me to understand them better, know how to hone all that wild boy energy in the right direction, and most importantly, it encourages me to be a present mama with them who knows how to show them that the love of Jesus is what’s most important. My desire is to launch my boys well into the world, and this book helps me to feel confident that I’m giving them the tools to do that. I love Monica’s humble attitude throughout the book. She makes it clear that although God has given her amazing tools to helps teach other boy moms, she doesn’t have it all together either. If I could give ten stars for this book would!

I have thoroughly enjoyed following Monica Swanson on her blog for quite a few years and was super-excited when she released her most recent book, "Boy Mom"! And let me say that this book did not disappoint! "Boy Mom" has been a beautiful way to have all of Monica's wisdom, research, ideas and resources in one place! Her sweet disposition comes across on the page like sitting with a trusted friend. The book is an amazing resource for families with boys of any age. I actually hesitated a bit on purchasing it because I thought it might be for raising up just young boys and my boys are in their mid to late teen years, but I was thrilled to discover that all of what she has shared is perfect for ALL of ages. I have already purchased the book several times over to give to friends. Don't hesitate...get this book in your home and it will quickly encourage your heart!!

I've never read anything more helpful and inspiring! I've read lots of good parenting books and have some good tools in my belt, but Monica gave me more than a bag of tools, she gave me a road map with a clear picture of the treasured goal of a godly and healthy man. She showed me what I had to look forward to, but also helped me to understand my part in it along the way. So practical, so helpful. Thank you Monica! I really wish we could be neighbors now!

This book speaks to the heart of being a boy mom. I am the mom of two boys. I have often searched for a book that gives real advice based on real experience about raising our sons in our current world....THIS BOOK IS IT!! As the book says, “we want to raise boys to be great men”. This book guides us through different stages of raising our sons as well as how to develop and nurture that mother/son relationship. I highly recommend this book to all “boy moms”. We all need that friend who has been there, and done that, to come along side us and say, “you’re not alone, I’ve raised boys and this is what worked for me”. Monica Swanson has written the book “Boy Mom” and proven to be that “friend” we all need when we are raising our boys.
