Battistoni Cup & Char Spicy Pepperoni, Single 5oz Pouch

I picked up the Battistoni Cup & Char Spicy Pepperoni mainly for nostalgia — my school used to give us the exact same style every Friday, and it was honestly the highlight of the week. This pack brought that feeling right back. The flavor is incredible: smoky, slightly spicy without overpowering the cheese, and it crisps up beautifully on pizza. I used it on homemade sourdough and a Neapolitan-style pizza, and the cup-and-char effect was perfect. Each slice curled, crisped, and released that flavorful oil that makes a pizza go from good to amazing. Texture is spot-on too — not rubbery like cheaper pepperoni, and not too thick. It tastes like something from an actual pizzeria. Only downsides: The bag is pretty small A little pricey for the amount you get But honestly, the quality makes it worth it if you care about flavor or if you make pizza at home. This is easily some of the best pepperoni I’ve ever used

So, just to be fair at the same time I also ordered the Bridgeford pepperonis also popular on Amazon. Also great. But these are a whole new angle of tastiness. I tried both plain (uncooked straight from the pack). Not so amazing. But again most of the flavor and whatnot is released during the cooking and heating process. Like they say "cup and char" or whatnot. Truly amazing flavor. Better or at least on par than any pizza joint. Sure, I guess you could say it's just grease and seasoning we could make ourselves if we have the meat, money, and time. But for something that's self-stable for a year, that costs a few dollars, two minutes to open from your front porch and takes a few minutes to make. Hard to beat. Incredibly high value. Though I do recommend getting the "normal" pepperoni (Bridgford or Hormel) to compliment this if you're going to splurge or treat yourself. If you're a pepperoni guy who likes adding to pizza, you will NOT regret this purchase. Heh that said. Watch your health.

These pepperonis are a superior product. Don't listen to the bad reviews because they have no clue what they're talking about. Some people complaining about the casing left on the outside. How do you expect it to cup without it. Some people complained about the flavor, which is absolutely ridiculous because The flavor is spot on with a nice spicy bite. Anyone who complains about it, I just assume they usually buy the trash Hormel brand and use Kraft cheese.

Have been looking for the pizza shop cup & char pepperoni in the stores, but can't find it anywhere around us. So ordered this to try out. Have to say that the price for 5oz is way too high, but wanted to see if it was any good. It showed up in the normal Amazon bag and when we pulled it out, the manufacturers bag had a LOT of grease/oil in with the pepperoni. Way more than you see in the packages at the store. We use a propane outdoor pizza oven with the high temps and I was a bit worried this was going to cup and char before the pizza cooked, but I have to say it worked very well and it was easy to get the pizza cooked and this pepperoni was cooked perfectly as well. The taste is good and overall it is a good product for us. The 4 stars vs. 5 was the price, while we like it for our pizza, at this price we will not be ordering it again from here. But will continue to see if we can find more local.

Its a little on the pricey side but the quality really is top notch. You can space them out more than other pepperoni because the oils released and the char on the edges packs a heck of a lot of flavor. I use a cast iron skillet for my pizza making within a standard oven, and the pepperoni cupped/crisped perfectly. DON'T dab away the grease, its not that heavy and adds a distinctive flavor to your pizza.

My husband and I have been looking for pepperoni that curls up gets the crunchy edge and holds the grease. We have tried every brand possible from various stores w no luck! I saw these online in a post and said why not. OMG these have a great spice to them and adds the final touch to our homemade pizzas! We call them grease buckets but they are not super greasy. They are worth the money to us. They never stick around long so not sure how the shelf life is. They smell flavorful and are. Try them!

This pepperoni does cup and char as advertised but the flavor is lacking. In my opinion, there is minimal spice. At this price, I would not buy it again.

These are great cup pepperoni. They taste great. Highly recommend
