THE best Ocarina for beginners (all stages really)! Perfectly in tune and sounds AMAZING!
Look no further, I’ve done all the research for you! This ocarina is perfect for all stages Long story short, I’d done a TON of research before buying an ocarina because there are so many out there and most Amazon brands are badly out of tune. (Seriously do NOT buy a ceramic ocarina from Amazon. Yes they are cheap but they are out of tune ((the only one that could be an ok option is the blue and white painted ZRAGEK ocarina $27) if you’re going to get a ceramic ocarina, (and I’m sure you’ve heard this before) buy from STL ocarina or Songbird (both have a very good reputation from ocarina musicians. However they are more costly so I decided I’d just go for a plastic ocarina. The Night By Noble is what I ended up with because it was like the BEST suggested plastic ocarina by COUNTLESS ocarina players. I had wanted to get a ceramic but I’m so happy I bought the night by noble instead. I’ve dropped this thing so many times and if I’d invested $60-$100 for a good in-tune ocarina it would be in a 100 pieces on the floor by now 😅 This is my FIRST ever ocarina and it’s easy to hold. Looks/feel: Super cool feeling finish, it’s like matte almost and soft making it look like ceramic. ⚠️Does attract fingerprints easily (so I wouldn’t use it as a murder weapon) easy to hold and it’s quite comfy. Has indents for the middle finger sub-hole Sound: PERFECTLY in-tune. Kinda loud but beautiful sounding 🥹 When I first got it, I didn’t know the correct way to play a scale so I was doing everything sorta backwards and I thought the ocarina was out of tune but that was just me 🫣 so DON’T just wing it and try to learn totally on your own. Please WATCH a video, it helped me SO much there’s a lady named Gina on YouTube who teaches ocarina (amongst many other people) and she does a great job teaching the notes (I tried uploading a video of me playing but it won’t let me)

Well tuned, well built, comfortable to hold, plays very well.
I've only had this a few days, but I absolutely love it. This is what I think of this fine instrument. The tone is a bit lighter or brighter than an equivalent clay or ceramic ocarina, which tend to have a mellower tone. If you are familiar with ocarinas, you know what I mean. This is not a bad thing, it's the nature of a lighter ocarina. It has a very nice tone, bright and loud. It is slightly louder than a comparable sized ocarina, but you can also play with less air without going out of tune. Cheaper ocarinas are notorious for not being well tuned to start with, and requiring a lot of air to sound good. This instrument can be played with less air and still sound good. The volume range is really good. The high notes are nicely in tune. Mechanically, It feels good and is comfortable to play. The hole spacing fits my fingers perfectly. I have average sized hands, FWIW. It is light, being plastic, but it is solid, not at all flimsy feeling. It is very nicely finished, smooth and well constructed. The finish is not rubberized as some people say, it is not coated, but the plastic itself is textured with a satin like finish, rather than leaving it smooth and shiny. This, to me, makes it easier to grip and hold. It gets a well deserved five stars. Update: After playing this for a few weeks, my initial impression is unchanged. It plays very well and is very well tuned. The high notes are easier to play than the Zelda style of Ocarina, though maybe not quite as easy as a high end clay ocarina. Still, the high notes sound good and are easy to play. Being plastic, it is lighter than an equivalent clay model, but still fits well and feels good in my hands. I would be interested in trying one of their larger models, I like this one so much.

Great Ocarina!! For only 40 Bucks!!!
I'm still terrible at playing this thing, but that is purely a skill issue i assure you. Haha. On the rare occasion my breath control and intonation allow me to hear something semi decent, it's really nice. It looks great with the matte finish. It's sub 40 bucks for a great starter ocarina. Great value honestly. It plays pretty easily, with everything in the right place. The whole fit my hands pretty well, and isn't awkward to hold to my mouth. BUY THIS for sure! It's a permanent fixture on my desk!

I really like the Night by Nobel Plastic Ocarina AC .. On the plus side: The ocarina feels good, is the right size, has a hole for the strap, the pitch holes are easily covered. It is plastic, difficult to break. It is recommended by many teachers. You can get good tone. On the middling side: It is a 442 hz ocarina. This is a feature. They warn you. USA usually uses a concert pitch of 440hz, most of the rest of the world uses a concert pitch of 442 hz. For example the 'forte9' music program uses 442 hz out of the box. You certainly should be intune with yourself, and then you really should be hitting the right notes by fingering with the correct pressure and correct breath. To add to this: The concert pitch is important due to playing with others or using an electronic tuner to check your pitch. (which is recommended to play in tune) I now have 2 ocarinas .. one a focalink/stein 440hz and one a night at 442hz. I can hear the difference and it bugs me when playing along. I try to play along with youtube, or forte, and I use my electronic tuner on the pc (free) Another feature others have mentioned I was surprised (and had forgotten) at how loud most 'sweet potato' transverse ocarinas are actually. And as a type 2 ocarina you do need to vary the breath pattern and yes they do need a bit of air for the high notes. A feature I had forgotten which recorders have as well. I have some trouble playing in tune. on good days I do ok, on bad days I am all over the place. This is not unique to the Night Ocarina. I really want to get the pitch correct. 1) I can vary the ocarina pitch from B4 to C4 to D4 by changing finger pressure from a 'ninja death grip' to 'too light a grip.' 2) I can also vary the pitch from A4 to D4 just by modifying the breath pressure. 3) lastly, if you blow way too lightly the instrument will go up an octive from c5 to c6 - which is interesting.

Night by Noble is still one of the best ocarinas I've every played.
You're probably here because you've heard that Night by Noble is THE ocarina to buy. It's plastic, it's durable, it's NOT A SOPRANO, thank God, it's light with a slight grippiness, and it's got a smooth and even tone, great for beginners or for masters alike. YOU'VE REACHED IT. YOU'VE FOUND YOURSELF A NIGHT. All of the above is true. While a "master" at playing ocarina may find that this ocarina won't challenge them or that it's not specialized enough, that same master will probably laud the Night for being a fantastic instrument. It's relatively large (especially if you're used to a soprano), but it still fits in your hand; I recommend this ocarina STRONGLY to everyone, but especially for people with larger hands, like me, and people who can't abide loud, high-pitched noises for a long time--like me. Night will absolutely still play loudly and can reach some fairly high notes, but nothing like a wrong note on one of the piercing sopranos you can find. On top of that, Noble is such a well-known and reputable seller, and their instruments of such high quality, that it would honestly be hard to go wrong with this product. Whether you're interested in ocarina because of Legend of Zelda or because you saw it at the Renaissance Festival, you're a nerd (hey, I'm a nerd too--I play LoZ and I WORK at the local Ren Faire), but you're a nerd of good taste, and you should absolutely continue your tradition of good taste and purchase this ocarina. It is a bit spendier than some of the soprano ocarinas or some of the "Legend of Zelda duplicates" around, but it's definitely worth it. Instruments are one thing that you should invest in; you will usually get what you pay for. :) I own over 20 ocarinas and ocarina-like instruments, and this is still one of my very favorites of them all.

One of the best plastic ocarinas
I absolutely adore this ocarina, and have both the soprano and alto C. It is a solid instrument with a low breath pressure requirement to play in tune, meaning it is very easy to get out notes without much effort. I also have the bravura by focalink you can get on this site, and while both are excellent plastic ocarinas, the bravura requires a lot higher breath pressure to play in tune, and I've found the need to use an acute bend to hit the highest note effectively, though this is not necessarily bad, just an issue of taste. The night by noble is definitely worth the purchase. To address some concerns made by the popular 3 star review, no it is not difficult to get the right notes, just don't blow with high pressure and you will be fine. It's important to line up the ocarina parallel to your windway (line up the hole to go straight towards the back of your throat) so that you don't get poor sound quality, and this goes for every ocarina. I also want to mention the only reason my "easy to learn" category is only 4 stars. The one issue with this ocarina is based off one of its strengths. It's low breath pressure means you can very easily overblow it, meaning it will release a high pitched whistle, and this can do permanent damage. Please use ear protection when using this particular ocarina of you are a beginner especially with the soprano. I personally use eargasm earplugs because they are cheap and good quality. In fact, use ear protection even when not a beginner, as both the alto and soprano by the nature of being ocarinas in those ranges get quite high pitched and loud. There is no playing in piano when playing your highest notes, as it is a lossy instrument that requires more air pressure the higher you play.

Good quality but mouthpiece angle doesn't work for me
I can't rate it musically as I am a beginner. I give it 5 stars for the looks, material and build quality. The thing I disliked is the angle of the mouthpiece is awkward and makes me have to either twist my arms uncomfortably or place the mouthpiece in mouth at an angle which I don't like. If they had made with the mouth piece slightly angled like other ocarinas, I would have given this five stars.

Sturdy and light
Bought this for my son as Christmas present. It is light and feels sturdy. I like it as it is not breakable, unlike the ceramic ones.

Très bon ocarina
Le son est très bon. C'est vrai que les aigus sont difficiles à jouer au début, mais chaque instrument de musique demande un temps d'apprentissage. Une fois qu'on sait jouer, il est très agréable à utiliser.
