Civil War Remembered: 19 Quilts Using Reproduction Fabrics

Beautiful new quilting book showcasing Civil War quilts. There are several I can't wait to make! Directions are thorough and easy to follow. Very nice addition to my quilting library.

This is a lovely book by a pair who have collected and obviously love Civil War quilts. Their designs are based on those popular in the era, but to showcase, of course, the reproduction fabrics of today. Most are scrappy. None is large enough for a queen bed, but obviously could be enlarged. Most are lap quilts or wall hangings. The color choices are quite lovely, and the instructions straight-forward. Of all the books I’ve looked at for Civil War era quilts, this is my favorite so far. I would enjoy making at least 12 of the 19--not that I will, of course, there being too many quilts to make and too little time. But I will get at least two or three of them made!

I really wanted this book and even though it was the most affordable way to get it easily, I know I still overpaid. This one in particular came with the Joann Fabrics sticker still on it which leads me to believe it was purchased at their closeout sales for probably 50% off then resold at higher than MSRP. Again, I chose to pay this much... free market and all that. Still love the book and it's a great piece in my Civil War Quilt Book collection.

Book has great patterns. I’m cutting one out now and will post pics when quilt is finished.

Receive powder on time and was in excellent condition.

Since fabric has gone up dramatically in price, I plan to make many of the patterns in the book, And that will be done by using my collection of fabric.

This is a very good book of nineteen quilts featuring reproduction fabrics. The quilts are lively and quite dynamic (not always the case with Civil War quilt books) and the directions for making the blocks and sewing them together are easy to follow. There are at least six quilts in the book that I would like to make; I would, however, like to make larger versions of the quilts to give to family members. Some historical information is given with each set of quilt instructions. Very nicely done, and highly recommended.

表紙のキルトに一目ぼれして、悩みましたが購入しました。キルトの洋書はちょっと高いけど自分へのご褒美として楽しみながら選んでいます。状態は何も問題なく届きました。 ピーシングやキルティングはミシン使用となっていますが、基本四角と三角のパターンですし仕立て方など図で説明されているので英語が苦手でも問題ありません。写真も美しく使われている生地の一つ一つを眺めて楽しめます。「死ぬまでにこの中の1枚は作りたい！」と悩みと妄想をかきたてる1冊です。
