First, I must say that I have been interested in Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) for some time. I've taken the Core course and studied the Advanced course. I've seen FSM and I've experienced it. This technology works. On one channel, each frequency is specific to a type of tissue, and resonates with that tissue. On the other channel, each frequency resonates with a specific condition. The energy used in FSM is the same strength as that generated by a living cell. This may sound as though it comes to you directly from Star Fleet Medical. We tend to forget that we already live in the space age. This is technology that is available today. We're on a learning curve, and the journey is amazing. I had Barrett's esophagus, with several other esophageal areas biopsied and found abnormal. Those tissues are healthy now. FSM helps keep me functioning at the level that I do.The author of this book has blazed a strong trail in this field. Dr. McMakin is an explorer in a vast new world. In this book, she tells us a little about how this science developed, and explains the importance of the medical studies that show FSM positively affect levels of some of our important biochemicals. The effectiveness of FSM on fibromyalgia, myofascial pain and neuropathic (nerve -generated) pain have been also documented in medical journals. This book tells you how you can treat a variety of illnesses, including those that are usually treated with involve invasive options. This technology can't restore tissue that is no longer there. It can treat a very wide variety of conditions in a wide variety of tissues. This book can change you. It can change your practice. It can open you up to new possibilities. If you are not willing to venture out of a comfortable rut, this book is not for you. If you want to be able to change energy levels in your patients/clients; if you want to get at the source of some of the symptoms; if your ready for a new adventure in healing, get this book. I have used FSM in my practice since taking my first training with Dr. Carol in 1999. Since then I and my staff have attended multiple seminars taught by this author. She is hands down the guru of Frequency Specific Microcurrent. This book represents the accumulation of clinical research that she and many of those she has taught for over a decade have accrued. This is a training seminar in a book. For those of us who have taken personal one on one training in FSM this is the textbook we have all been waiting for. A tableside reference to use in practice daily and to review when a tough case is in the office.So if you have taken the FSM training course this book is a MUST buy for you. If you have ever considered exploring the realms of reproducible scientific energy medicine then you MUST buy this book. Besides integrity, curiosity and heartfelt caring for her patients...you should know that Dr. Carol does not teach and certainly put any treatment protocols into print until she and many others have proven time and time again that it is reproducible and effective. This book is another proof that FSM is here to stay and is one of the most interesting and effective healing methods of the present and future. As an FSM practitioner for the last seven years, I thought Dr. McMakin's book was fantastic. This book is an essential for anyone who currently is using the Frequency Specific Microcurrent in a clinical setting. And it is a great book for anyone to read who is considering using FSM in practice in the future.This book shows all of the fundamental hard work Dr. McMakin has done to develop this phenomenal technology. And as she would say, "This is just the beginning." FSM is still in its infancy, yet its potential plays a huge contribution in the healing of humanity.This book gives us a great foundation, and explains this technology fully for us to use as a springboard, to develop even more applications for our patients in a clinical setting.I highly recommend it!

This book explains how a recently FDA approved machine, using very, very low amperage, may alleviate, or even eliminate your pain. This book was designed for health practitioners so I hope someone is working on a consumer version. In the meantime, there's lots of information here about a non-invasive, drug and surgery free treatment for pain that seems to be growing in popularity because of it's very gentle effectiveness.As an RN (not a rocket scientist), I found the scientific evidence and the FDA approval included in the book easy to understand. But if I hadn't had the training I've had, the description of how and what was involved in a treatment would have been enough to keep me reading. Amazing stuff and an easy entry into fascinating new treatment for pain.

I use this book as a reference. I hope the author will come out with a new text book.

This book is invaluable for those of us who are doing Frequency Specific Microcurrent. For anyone who is in pain and desires to learn about a very effective technique this book is for you. Also for all those medical practitioners, especially those in sports medicine and those who do surgery, if you want to see your patients pain free and regain their freedom of motion in the shortest period of time, especially those who do not have time for physical therapy, this book is for you.

Purchased this text book after reading her book Resonance, which captivated my attention and I couldn't put the book down. The text book is excellent. It gives you a beginner's guide to using microcurrent. Very informative. You will need to attend the training session(s) to learn how to treat a broader range of pain syndromes.

The Kindle version of this book is supposed to come with access to important usage videos and other documentation. But the link in it to access these at the Elsevier website gives a "Not found" error. I found the page manually, but was confronted with an access form which asks "What is the second word on page 15?" This shows that Elsevier appears to know little or nothing about page locations in Kindle since page 15 will be different on a MacBook, an iPad, and an iPhone.When I contacted Elsevier tech support, it took three days to get a reply, which asked me to supply a copy of my receipt. They then emailed back asking me for my mobile phone number so they could send me a password for direct access, which obviously meant they couldn't answer their own question.Eight days have now passed, and I still have heard nothing from Elsevier. This book was expensive, and I remain unable to access half of what I paid for. Consequently, I cannot recommend buying any books published by a company which treats customers (and authors) in this manner, and then ignores them when they complain. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Kindle book handled by this outfit.If it's published by Elsevier, caveat emptor...
